    NY Mets Thread

Ok, so far this season pretty much sucks. We all need therapy to get through it, so here it is, group therapy for Mets fans, let it out folks, its not healthy to keep it bottled up inside

What is the Over/Under on Phillips being fired? Last I heard it was June 1

Well, all I can say is at least my fake Mets are doing well. 31-20, 4 games up on Philly and 5 up on ATL. There numbers are pretty solid too.

        Alomar .375, 7 HR, 29 RBI
        Perez .284, 9, 25
        Floyd .241, 10. 31
        Piazza .343, 17, 45
        Vaughn .277, 9, 28
        Wigginton .207, 2, 14
        Burnitz .314, 5, 19
        Sanchez . 277, 0, 17

Clark is also htting .429 off the bench with 8 HR's and 28 RBI. I can't seem to get Wigginton any hits. Its like a major league slump, he hits it well but always at someone. Alomar also has 11 Triples and 51 Runs scored. That is the kind of production we thought we were getting huh?

My pitching staff is darn solid too.

        Glavine 8-2, 2.80, 36 K
        Leiter 5-3, 3.55, 36
        Astacio 4-1, 1.83, 32
        Trachsel 5-2, 2.37, 52
        Seo 2-0, 2.67, 13
        Cone 2-3, 3.38, 24

        Benitez 1-0, 2.30, 8 K, 11 SV

Weathers and Lloyd have been great in relief, but Strickland has gotten rocked several times and Stanton has been flat out shaky. But with overall results like these, I can't complain. I have kept up the the Mets injuries too, so Cone, Burnitz and Vaughn have missed time.

The thing is, I know the Mets should be putting up these kind of numbers. Its not like I am using the Brewers and they are only good because I know how to beat the CPU, the Mets really could play this well. Man, it hurts just thinking about it. Well, at least my fantasy Mets make me happy, and I don't have to play Cedeno if I don't want to.

Honestly, I don't expect him to get fired right away. I think if he tries to ride out this team and does nothing, he will get fired by the end of August or so. I think they will see what he can do when the July trade season rolls around. Its not like his moves have been stupid (other than bringing Cedeno back), no one could have predicted they would work out so poorly.

I play ASB. I have played half my games on Veteran, half on All Star. I K'd too much on All Star. I use classic cursor, turn off pitch assist, strike zone and vibration.

I dont think so, someone has to take the blame for the team and he is the one next in line. They only way to save himself is if the Mets win every series for the rest of the month and they pull themselves within reach of the rest of the division.

i heard that if the mets didn't take 2 of 3 from the Brewers that he could have been fired this week.. but really one cannot blame him for how bad the team is.. i mean really, who thought that alomar would play as bad as he is, cedeno stinks, vaughn's done.. in theory the players should be held accountable for the job they're doing.. i also heard that there are rumors that Piazza might be traded..
