Agreed. The character clause is bogus. Half the players with "good guy" reps are POS when they're off-camera. I think Schilling is a vile, hateful hypocrite. I also think that should have absolutely nothing to do with evaluating his HoF credentials.

From what I heard on tv, apparently Vlad is reconsidering which hat he goes in with. Might consider Expos.

I thought it was for sure Expos, but sounded like Angels were faves before?

Which do people think/want him going in as? And which would be more significant, the last Expos inductee, or first Angels inductee?

Jim Edmonds and Jorge Posada both deserved more than one turn on the voting wheel. Magglio Ordonez probably deserved more than 3 votes from the people that gave David Eckstein 2.

Also a classy statement from Edgar Martinez:

Count me as one that has no issues with him staying out. Rarely is there a douchebag of such phenomenally epic proportions born with absolutely no self-awareness or common sense whatsoever. Someone who is almost Pete Rose-ian in his self-sabotage. It was nice watching him and Randy Johnson blow people away in Arizona, but Schilling staying out bothers me 0%. If you're gonna be a total idiot, at least try to do so quietly and in private. Broadcast it and become a self-proclaimed pundit? Then, it serves you right when putting your foot in your mouth constantly leaves a bitter taste.

I would put in Bonds, Clemens, A-Rod, Pete Rose, and Shoeless Joe...and maybe Fernando Tatis Sr. and others...before Schilling.

How is Scott Rolen getting more votes than Andruw? Even Vizquel?

            I don't get it.

I had to look up his baseball reference numbers because I thought it was a lock he'd be an Expo. My memory was way off, I thought the majority of his years were in Montreal, was surprised to see all the Angels stats. I'm good either way, he was great with both

These baseball writers are just.....I don't think there's a more loathsome group of people in sports.

And change the "vote for 10 only" rule, good ****ing grief.

It's funny in a way, everyone north of the border automatically associates him with the Expos but the bulk of his years were in Anaheim. I'd be fine either way as well.

                      What? No.

                      Guerrero w/ Expos: 1004 GP, 234 HR, 702 RBI, 123 SB, .323/.390/.588, 148 OPS+, 34.4 WAR
                      Guerrero w/ Angels: 846 GP, 173 HR, 616 RBI, 52 SB, .319/.381/.546, 141 OPS+, 22.8 WAR

The Angels' 1st Hall of Famer will have his #27 retired, but it ain't Vladdy.

I don't feel sorry for any of these guys. But if they're on the ballot, my vote depends on their MLB stats and baseball impact alone. If it's a morality vote, virtually nobody gets in. His baseball violations aside, Rose is a convicted tax cheat and accused pedophile. (The only thing Rose disputes is whether the girl was 16 or not.) Schilling says a lot of stupid things (IMO) and should be called out for doing so. But I'll take someone who's an idiot in public over someone who chases jailbait in private.

More games as an Expos player, but obviously more known as an Angel in the US for obvious reasons. Hope he picks the Expos. Maybe being honoured in Montreal the past few years during Jays ST visits and having his son(who was born in Montreal) projected to be a star on a Canadian team might steer him towards Expos side, assuming he really is undecided.
