Your 2010 Hall of Fame Ballot

No professional sport's Hall of Fame leads to such intense debate as Baseball's annual induction. It turns husbands against wives, fathers against sons, everyone against Jon Heyman, and so on.

This year's ballot has some interesting new comers. Last year the only new name on the ballot to receive induction was Rickey Henderson. Two players tallied over 60% of the vote, Dawson and Blyleven, as they inch closer to Cooperstown. I don't have an official vote, obviously, but I give a lot of thought to this subject each year. If I had a vote though, I would select the following:

    Bert Blyleven
    Alan Trammell
    Edgar Martinez
    Roberto Alomar
    Barry Larkin
    Tim Raines

All players need to total at least 75% of the vote to receive induction. Whom does the rest of the OS Community feel deserves induction?

        Alomar and Larkin for me.

Edgar Martinez probably should get in but won't, at least not as a first ballot. It may take a few more years before voters are willing to accept DH as a position (which is why Harold Baines will not be getting in either).

Bert Blyleven needs to be in the Hall of Fame.

It only makes sense that if Eckersley, Fingers, Gossage, and Suter can get in that the previous all time saves leader should be in.

Maybe if Trevor Hoffman and Mariano Rivera retire in the same year Smith could go in the hall with them.
