Re: Your 2010 Hall of Fame Ballot
Ralph Kiner lead his league in home runs seven different times, the most in history of anyone not named Babe Ruth or Mike Schmidt. In fact, he lead the NL in home runs each of his first seven seasons in the sport. He had to wait fifteen years on the ballot. That alone should tell you the stupidity of the BBWAA.Comment

Re: Your 2010 Hall of Fame Ballot
You think that's baffling? Ryan received the highest percentage of votes ever. Hank Aaron got 97%. Babe Ruth got 95%. Willie Mays got 94%. Ted Williams got 93%. Mickey Mantle got 88%. Sandy Koufax got 87%. Bob Gibson got 84%.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: Your 2010 Hall of Fame Ballot
There's always someone out there trying to prove a point. And now that the greatest ever didn't get in with 100%, writers will believe that no one should."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
