I don't know if we should still consider him a prospect, but what the hell.

Good thread to sub to, I need to read about the kids the Yanks will be signing in 5-8 years.

There's a kid named Juan Cruz or something in the Dominican... I think he's 10 right now so yeah. He's got 60+ mph fastball, currently 5'1" 91 lbs.

Look out for SS Adeiny Hechavarria, the Yanks were trying to get him and nearly did but he said no to them because he feels he'd have to wait years behind Derek Jeter. According to Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos Hechavarria has above average range, arm and plus speed. His bat doesn't have a lot of power right now as he has a bit of an inside out swing but the Jays are confident that he'll grow into his body and that power will come to him as he has a wiry frame which lends to comparisons to Alphonso Soriano but he doesn't compare to anyone in particular.

Hechavarria will have an extended Spring Training, get some games in the Florida State league and then will be put in the Jays minor league system with the likely destination being AA New Hampshire Fishercats. The thinking is that Hechavarria might get some ABs in the big leagues in September and could very well challenge for a roster spot in 2011.

Starlin Castro? Tyler Colvin? The former might be the team's best MIF, the latter is on the ML squad right now, and playing every bit as well as the vets (save for Fukudome)...though, uh, that ain't saying much.

Geo Soto seems like the most recent in a long line of busts...he obviously has some kind of hole in his swing or something because he hasn't been able to hit since 08 , but no one seems to be doing anything about it. Granted, he was injured for a lot of 09.

Josh Vitters still gets some acclaim, but it is hard to tell what will come of it...Ramirez seems to be locked in at 3rd until 2157A.D., and Vitters isn't even in AA yet...so, yeah.

Baseball America still lists Lee and Ramirez on the corners projected into 2013...I can't imagine anyone hopes that will be the case.

I guess I am not a good pimp.

Josh Vitters should surplant the aging Aramis Ramirez by 2013 (never put any stock on those projections anyways). As for Starlin Castro, I believe he's currently the highest rated Cubs prospect. The Cubs also have Brett Jackson, Jay Jackson, and Andrew Cashner in BA's top 100.

We've had a few players make that list. They just don't do the panning out part.

I do think Castro will make a quality major leaguer.

Yep, even if they make the list it doesn't mean they'll pan out. Hell, look at Sean Burroughs, he made it in the top 10 and the best he ended up being was a slap-hitting, third basemen.

Logan Forysthe, now 2B (Formerly a 3B) in the Padres AA system San Antonio. Looked slick with the glove during spring training, starting the year hitting .364 with a HR and 5 RBI

                        SLG: .545

He's committed 2 errors I think through 4 games. He's still got more than a year, but I think his ETA, along with James Darnell is as early as mid-2011. Although Darnell is blocked by Headley for the time being, I can easily see Headley becoming expendable if Darnell has a great follow-up season in San Antonio.

I think the one prospect immediately threatening would be Luis Durango. Tony Gwynn Jr. has gotten off to a terrible start and Scott Hairston struggles once he's given a starting position. Durango could easily push for a mid-season call up this year, but another September call-up is most likely to occur, but he has hit at every level, showed tremendous patience (more walks than strikeouts at each level), has tremendous speed rivaled by only Everth Cabrera and Wande Olasbi in the entire system, and has shown significant improvement in reaction, arm strength, and baserunning. If he pans out, he and Everth could be a fun 1-2 duo to watch.

I have yet to ever see Durango swing a bat. All last year when called up and spring training games when he played that were on tv all he does is bunt, drag bunt or do a softball running slap. I'm sure he does swing but i still have yet to see it haha

If Chase keeps up with what he is doing now and what he did in spring I don't see him being moved. I can see either Darnell OR Forsythe being moved since both are natural 3B, one can probably be moved to 2B as Forsythe is now since 2B in the system is rather weak, I'm still deep down inside pulling for Antonelli, promising spring, hope he figures himself out. I'm also following Lance Zawadzki too.
