My #1 guy is Jon Singleton. Of course Dom Brown is the #1 prospect in the system, but I like Singleton more.

Re: The Official Pimp Yo Prospect Thread
Cardinals Shelby miller and lance Lynn are going to be good pitchers in a few years. I also think Jon jay ia going to be a good outfielder, he hit .300 last year in about 90-100 games played I believe.Current careers:

Re: The Official Pimp Yo Prospect Thread
Little update on the Mariners' top prospects:
Michael Pineda (MLB):
8 starts
5-2 record
2.45 ERA
51.1 IP
39 H
52 K
13 BB
.207 BAA
Kid is pretty nasty. He has gone at least six innings in every start. He sits around 94-96 MPH through the first four innings, then gets stronger as the game goes along. He's touched 99 MPH many times this season and he does not yield many walks at all. That's been the most impressive thing with him -- command. He'll probably cool off, but in my opinion you can almost put the "ace" label on him and call it good.
Dustin Ackley (AAA):
40 Games
.280 BA
27 R
9 2B
6 HR
21 RBI
33 BB
25 K
6 SB
Ackley got off to a terrible start in April, hitting in the low .200's. He's been on fire in May and is hitting .463 over his past 10 games. He's ready offensively now, but his Super 2 status is keeping him down.
The six home runs are nice, as are the 33 walks. He has an elite eye and will be a plus bat, especially at 2B, for the Mariners for a long time hopefully.
There's been some other impressive prospects in the M's system, but I don't want this to turn into a novel.Last edited by 12; 05-18-2011, 03:33 AM.Comment

Re: The Official Pimp Yo Prospect Thread
Sounds like the Tigers are about to call up Oliver and Furbush. They have sub 3 ERA's in AAA. Look real good, I hate both of their faces though. Makes me mad. Lol.JayElectronicaBluElzhi2PacTheNotoriousB.I.G.ReksSc arfaceFashawnJeruThaDamajaComment

Re: The Official Pimp Yo Prospect Thread
It's nice to see this thread come alive.
Anyone who puts up good hitting numbers in Tucson probably shouldn't get a lot of credit since it's a hitter's haven, but Rizzo has been mashing:
1B Anthony Rizzo
.374/.447/.714/1.161
37 G, 12 2B, 1 3B, 12 HR
50 RBI, 5 SB, 19 BB, 34 K
Hawpe's bat has heated up so Rizzo will be in AAA for a while. Fellow top prospect Simon Castro hasn't fared to well though at the same level, with his struggles being credited mainly to inconsistent mechanics.
At the AA level, the bats have been hot for a few players, including James Darnell and Jaff Decker. Relievers are pretty much afterthoughts in the minors, but one person who might emerge as a future premier set-up man/closer is the guy here.
CP Brad Brach
2.84 ERA/0.89 WHIP (2.00 ERA, 0.885 WHIP)
19 IP, 32 K, 3 BB (170.2 IP, 221 K, 30 BB)
He might get a September Call-up and may fight for a bullpen spot next year. However Tucson will be a chalenge as all the relievers that were ahead of him have struggled there.Comment

Re: The Official Pimp Yo Prospect Thread
Another prospect I forgot to mention for the Marlins who's been outstanding.
'09 12th Rounder Kyle Jensen in Class-A Advanced Jupiter
.350/.419/.657
11 HRs
34 RBIs
Some pretty impressive hitting numbers especially in the FSL
3B Matt Dominguez is expected to be back in AAA New Orleans in 1-2 weeks after suffering a fractured elbow in the 2nd to last spring training gameLast edited by Chrisksaint; 05-18-2011, 05:27 PM.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: The Official Pimp Yo Prospect Thread
The Rangers don't have much for hitting prospects, but their pitching ones are doing fantastic this year.
Neil Ramirez, who is only 22, has been doing solid in Round Rock.
Martin Perez, just turned 20, has a 2.66 ERA in 8 starts for double-a Frisco. The number I like with him is the 1.67 GO/AO. He's going to be a great starter for the Rangers as early as next season.
Joseph Wieland, Robert Erlin, and Robert Ross are all 20 and have sub 3 ERA in single a. Wieland has been a huge surprise, as his is 1.62 in 44 1/3 IP.Fan of....
