He could've been in the hall in some way. Weather it be a mention of the game, or a mention of how crazy it was to have 3 perfect games in 23 days.

Now what would we be saying if the opposite happaned? What if he was clearly safe and he called him out? Would we still be screaming for replay?

So the official scorer is thinking about changing it from a hit to an error. He would at least have a no-hitter.

However, it is technically possible that the scoring decision on the play could be changed from a hit to an error -- thus preserving a no-hitter.
One replay angle showed that Galarraga may have juggled the ball after receiving the throw from first baseman Miguel Cabrera.
“I want to see it before I say anything,” official scorer Chuck Klonke said late Wednesday night, when told of the additional replay angle.
“I want to look at it myself. I’d have to look at how the whole thing developed.”

Bud Selig should just give the guy the perfect game. I know people are going to say that's a slippery slope, but a situation like this is unprecedented and may never happen again. The ump admits he f'ed up, everyone knows he f'ed up, even Cleveland knows he f'ed up. Just feel sick for the guy....just give him the perfecto and the place in history he rightfully earned.

This is really just sad. Heartbreaking (in the sporting sense, not in a real-world sense). I think that he should get a perfect game recognized by the Hall with an asterisk (*umpire erroneously called 27th batter out).

The fact that it happened to my Tigers, in what would have been the first perfect game in our franchise's regal baseball history, at home, just kills me. Kills me. I can't even be articulate about it.

Mariano Rivera calls him the "best umpire we have in the game," and that sentiment is shared by many other MLB players and coaches.

He choked, he apologized. It will haunt him until the day he dies.

It was a bad call, but far from the worst call in history.

I don't see why it wouldn't. It may not be worse, but somebody's perfect game and place in baseball history was stolen on an obvious blown call. Both this and Denkinger's call were not close plays.

Also people forgot Denkinger's call did not single handily cost that team anything. They still had a chance to win that series even with that call.

Jim Joyce on the other hand single handily cost Gallaragga his perfect game. There was nothing more Gallaragga could have done.

Not to mention I could argue throwing a perfect game is every bit a once and a lifetime opportunity as winning a World Series and to have that essentially stolen is flat out sickening.

Like I said before I could care less what the official line says, Armando Gallaragga threw a perfect game.
