I'm saying they tore it down after 07...and they didn't win a world series because they were in Cleveland. Duh! I don't know anything about Wedge , I hope he doesn't suck.

But also realize I root for a baseball team that once had Griffey, Johnson, Martinez, A-Rod , and (I guess he sorta counts) Buhner, on one roster, and didn't win ****.

Wedge and Milton Bradley reunited? That's hillarious. I have a feeling Wedge will also have trouble getting along with Ichiro, too. He doesn't sound like the "grinders" that Wedge loves.

Mariner fans, say goodbye to the sacrifice bunt. Wedge has no idea how to use it properly. You can also expect the Mariners to acquire Casey Blake very soon, since he and Wedge are joined at the hip.

And the Mariners will always suck in April.

According to reports Indians 1B coach Sandy Alomar Jr. will be meeting the Jays for the 3rd time about the manager job. I kinda like this if he's going to be the manager here. Catchers usually make good managers, Alomar was a great all around catcher and would be a great teacher to JP Arencibia and other young catchers coming up the system in Toronto. He would also have instant credibility with the latin players as the Jays are said to be focusing a lot of attention on Latin America.

This could be yet another under the radar but shrewd move on AA's part.

EDIT: Forgot to add that Rob Thomson is also very high on the Jays list and will be interviewed once the Yanks are out of the playoffs. Looking at all the reports i'm thinking it's between Alomar and Thomson.

Not a Bad Hire given his 2nd half success, I would of preffered Sandberg though.

I just hope Sandberg is part of Quade's staff so we don't lose him.

I think Ryno's done in Chicago.

I give no props to winning in September when your team has long been eliminated.

And Ryno in a radio interview hours ago, all but said that he was done with the Cubs organazation.

True, I'm just saying I think Front Office was Impressed by that.

I think they made a mistake but they went with the guy with More experience..

There going to be in a rebuilding process and who better to manage a team like that than Sandberg who has been watching these young players.

This could be a blessing in disguise for Sandberg.

Alan Trammell was a much loved player with the Tigers in his day and when he got the reigns it was a total disaster going 186-300 in Trammell's 3 seasons at the helm and lossed 119 in his first season.
The Cubs are probably not poised to make a dramatic turnaround unless they can do some serious roster overhauling. Quade probably knows and accepts this. Sandberg would be expected to turn things around rightaway (at least by the fans and media) and when he can't it would be a blemish to his leagacy as a Chicago sports figure.

Eh, I was kind of hoping Ryno would get a chance. Oh well, people smarter than I are making these decisions.

There's a report that now Ryno is out of the Cubs organization that the Marlins may hire him as their new manager.

Anyways a ton of guys got chopped off the potential Blue Jays manager list including Dave Martinez. It's looking like the two main candidates are Sandy Alomar Jr. and Red Sox bench coach DeMarlo Hale. There are other names that may get the job but seem like long shots to me.

Well according to Comcast New England the Jays manager search is down to three:

                            Sandy Alomar Jr. (my pick)
                            DeMarlo Hale
                            John Farrell

I really hope AA doesn't hire Farrell. I can't quite put my finger on it but I just feel he'd make a bad manager. Hale i've heard good things about in regards to how he relates with younger players but Alomar to me, hits on everything the Jays are looking for in a manager.

I think Sandberg w/the Cubs woulda been a disaster. Just like when the Mariners almost hired Joey Cora.

I think Sandberg will be a good manager somewhere tho.

I don't know if you guys tire of my updates in regards to the Jays (let me know and i'll stop) but Jays 3B coach and infield instructor Brian Butterfield is said to still be in the running. He's told the National Post that he only did one interview but feels "No news is good news" in regards to what's going on with him.
