Re: Managers: Who's in?/Who's out?
I could see Sandberg ending up with the Marlins, someone who has major league experience and was recently a coach in the minors which could be nice since most of the Marlins players are very young. Andre Dawson is a consultant with the Marlins so i'm sure he's already suggested him lolSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Well according to chatter within the baseball media John Farrell is going to be the Jays new manager. It's not 100% confirmed though. If that's the case then i'm not jumping up and down over the hire.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

It's pretty much official now. Farrell's been offered the job and all they have to do is agree on the contract. There'll be a presser on Monday or Tuesday.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

So how exactly will Ferrell help the Jays in comparison to Cito?Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

Re: Managers: Who's in?/Who's out?
He probably won't and i can't say i am all that sorry to see him go. While Lester and Buchholz have seemed to develope well under him Beckett has regressed and some of the younger pitchers brought along have not done much.
Hopefully he surrounds himself with a good coaching staff, especially a bench and hitting coach that understand the Jays offensive philosophy as a swing first offense.Comment

I don't know if you guys tire of my updates in regards to the Jays (let me know and i'll stop) but Jays 3B coach and infield instructor Brian Butterfield is said to still be in the running. He's told the National Post that he only did one interview but feels "No news is good news" in regards to what's going on with him."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Brewers are reportedly down to 4 people in their search. Apparently 2 of them are Bob Melvin and Joey Cora. Pat Listach interviewed but apparently isn't among the 4.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

The big lure to the Jays is that Farrell has extensive scouting and player development background mainly with Cleveland. He was the head of Cleveland's Latin America programs and that's a key of emphasis for the Jays. If Farrell can help bring in Latin players and work with them well then he should be successful.
Already, (off the record) Shaun Marcum and Ricky Romero have given their approval of the hire and are looking forward to playing under Farrell.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

It's just been reported that Manny Ramirez now wants to play for the Blue Jays. Funny how that happens when we get a Red Sox guy as our manager.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Managers: Who's in?/Who's out?
If Manny is willing take a low base salary/high incentive laden contract then i could see this. Manny at DH and move Adam Lind to 1B since Overbay will likely not be re-signed anyway.Comment
