Great game by Beckett, arguable the best of the postseason so far. He came up big, to say the least.

Cubs still in good shape though, I think they win game 6.

Hopefully the Cubs can score 10 runs in the first inning on Tuesday so Prior only has to pitch a few innings.

That was a masterful performance by Beckett. No one could touch him. I was really pleased to see how Zambrano rebounded tho. Even tho he had to battle out of some situations he still pitched well enough to win the game. As one poster said the Cubs did do the job by winning at least 2 of the 3 in Florida.

Let's hope that this kind of performance from Beckett turns the Cubbies bats cold as these kind of pitching performances tend to do.

Ya know, I always think managers will pull starters with big leads in situations like the one you mentioned, but it never seems to happen. Maybe Dusty will surprise me.

Big W for the Marlins today, but I think their time is up. Prior is just too good and should get the W in Chicago.

I'd be real excited to see a Wood vs. Clemens, Prior vs. Mussina matchup in the WS. Should be interesting if the Yanks pull it out...

The Cubs are in the World Series, so that's no longer an issue. The problem is that Prior and or Wood will not pitch game one and two like we could have had if Zambrano had pitched like a major leaguer today.

UH?!? I felt that Zambrano pitched VERY well today. Yes he made one bad slider (I think) that hung and got smacked into the seats but that's it. He battled very hard throughout the game and I liked the emotion he displayed.

It was the Cubs bats that didn't show up.
