I'm sad Pujols left Baseball Heaven to come to a region of the country where people only act like they give a damn about you. Though, to be fair, Anaheim is much better than the Dodgers in that regard.

Indeed. Which is sad, because I like the Angels a lot. They're gonna ruin baseball for me next. Already ruined basketball.

Re: The Hot Stove League Thread
I'll say it, the Angels better win the WS in the next 3 years or this will be the worse contract ever. 10 years for a guy who is supposedly 31 and his numbers are on the decline (still very good, but on the decline) is crazy. CJ made a lot of money as well, but who knows with him, Buehrle kind of set that market so high.Comment

Re: The Hot Stove League Thread
There is no source but I'm sure the Rangers are going to be all over Fielder now that the Angels landed Pujols. They're talking about it right now on ESPN and MLBN. Wouldn't surprise me if Fielder gets a 10/250 from the Marlins or the Rangers. We'll see what happens and I'll be curious to see your reaction to it.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

The ball was in his court and you gotta pay up and play by his rules to get the best player in baseball. Strictly a business decision on Albert's part and I can't blame him. $250 million with no opt out clauses and what not? You'd be a fool to not sign.Last edited by XFactah416; 12-08-2011, 12:34 PM.Comment

Re: The Hot Stove League Thread
If you wanted Albert, you had to go 10 years.

The contract Wilson is getting to be a third starter is infinitely worse than the length and numbers for Pujols. Pujols is going to make the Angels a ****load of money. They'll be fine.Comment

Re: The Hot Stove League Thread
BTW someone mentioned that Boras will push hard for Fielder to get 10 years. Well, he may try as hard as he can but I don't see it. If GMs hold the fort I see Fielder fetching 6 years at the most. The market for Fielder is actually very slim with Chicago, Milwaukee, maybe Miami, Texas and the Blue Jays being a real long shot.
Everything i've heard seems to indicate 6 years for him and nothing more.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: The Hot Stove League Thread
Why? Because they are spending money to get the fanbase excited? Are people really getting upset that their team is spending money now? ****, I wish the Dodgers had money to do something, I would welcome Albert's terrible contract with open arms to my team.Comment

Re: The Hot Stove League Thread
I gave you my sources. Go back and read my post. ESPN and MLBN are both discussing it.
My "informed opinion" is not much different than yours, comparing the CJ/Pujols signings to the Park/Arod signing.Comment
