Davis did not know what he was doing as far as running the Raiders for the last decade.

Angelos is worse because the Orioles could be a sellout-crowd-every night-playoff-contender-every season team if he would let his Baseball people actually run the team.

Angelos is infinitely worse than Al Davis. Al Davis contributed so much to the Raiders and the NFL in general. Peter Angelos, other than two fluke seasons, has done absolutely nothing but hold this team and fan base hostage. He fired Davey Johnson who had just won AL MOY because of some petty argument...did the same thing to Pat Gillick. He's nixed so many trades that would've helped us (Derrek Lee, Scott Rolen, A.J. Burnett come to mind). It's just sickening.

I obviously don't want the guy to die, I just want the team to be in better hands. It's just like, no matter who they hire, it's gonna be the same.

"Sure, you can be the GM, but the manager is going to have the same amount or more power than you and you have no choice on who will work with you in the front office. Are you in?"

CC's deal is 5 years w/an option at 23-23-23-23-25 and a vesting(either a 5 mil buyout or another 25 mil for the year) option of one year.

Too funny. A guy who is overpaid already, who met expectations (just did his job), wants even more money and the Yankees give him 30 just like that and voila. New deal.

                Only in New York...

Dude, come on. If CC "just met expectations" then the expectations were unbelievably high in the first place. He's been pretty much the definition of an ace the whole time he's been with New York. Is it a lot of money? Yes, but that's what happens in baseball, and especially in New York. But to act like they're throwing this kind of cash at a average player is ridiculous.

                    1. He's not overpaid
                    2. He met extremely high expectations, you can't really exceed expectations when your expected to be a legit ace
                    3. He did not just want more money, and they didn't just give him money just like that. He was essentially a free agent, and they agreed on a very fair deal.

CC has had 59 wins and a world series ring in his tenure with the yankees so far, I'm very happy with that

CC was **** in the postseason this year though, and heck **** last year in the playoffs. Wins is overrated stat.
He pitched very well and really impressed me this year though increasing his K rate. A great year for him.

I'm going to laugh if Sandberg gets the Cards job and goes on to become the next great manager in baseball taking the Cards to the postseason nearly every year while the Cubs are bottom dwellers.

I hope Grady does well wherever he ends up. I fully expect him to sign elsewhere and return to his 2008 form and tear it up for the next 5 years.

Every year I get a little apprehensive though if he ever leaves i'll wish him a ton of luck.

Anyways i'm hearing rumors that the Cardinals are going after Joe Maddon to be their next manager. This makes WAY too much sense.
