I always thought Fielder and his agent overvalued his value/worth for a team and now he's twisting in the wind because of it.

I don't think it's that Fielder is overvaluing himself; I think team's just aren't that crazy anymore.

You have your dumb franchises out there that throw money around like nothing but the teams that are interested in Fielder are not gonna give him market value.

Worst thing that happened to Fielder is Pujols and Wilson.

The best player on Earth was a free agent and a young top rotation starter was out there too.

Same thing happened to Adam Dunn in 2009.

        It's the 2012 FA bug.
        I thought SCEA fixed this?!

Just want to say that I'm so glad this is happening to a Boras client.

And that's where overvaluing his own worth comes into play.

He figured he would be a hot commodity and the reception for him hasn't been what was expected initially.

Still think his best bet is to sign a one-year deal with the Brewers and, if he's so hell bent on leaving Milwaukee, then try to leave again after this season.

No better course of action for him, I think.

They were willing to take a bet on a guy who was almost a cy young pitcher when he first came up, pay him 7 million dollars on the bet that he is entering his prime.

Now he is a 7 million dollar waste of money on an over the hill pitcher...unreal.
Imagine any other scenario where you lie to your employer about your age, when age is a big deal in your profession and lie about your name and who you really are...

The Indians should have every right to hammer this guy. I know it's baseball and I know it happens, but it's just unreal. If you or I did that, we'd get a prison sentence. Identity theft is kind of a big deal, if that's what this is... I never used to think it was a huge deal; I mean baseball had bigger problems in the past than this, but as I've thought on it more, it has changed my opinion a lot.

I'm not trying to be self-righteous here but man... Something needs to be done about these South American players and their fake names, committing identity theft and lying about their age... Especially when millions of dollars are paid to them to render a service, when age is a factor on the years and monetary value of a contract... It's just mind boggling.

Am I wrong here? I admit that I might be overreacting...

Unless it's for really, really cheap, they don't have the money.

It was spent on Aramis Ramirez and K-Rod. Not to mention Greinke and Marcum could each have extensions on the table soon (Marcum for sure, Greinke if he's willing to take a discount because he likes it here, which he may do).

As Dayman said, not the best course of action for the Brew Crew. The Brewers are already committed to appox 100 million this year.

Ya. And I'd be pissed if I was a Milwaukee fan or in the organization too.

Rockies finishing up a deal for Boston's Marco Scutaro. A pitcher would go back to Boston. Deal revived today.

I like the move if it's for Clayton Mortensen as Renck tweeted.

Thats who I see mentioned in the deal as well. O'Dowd must realize his time is running out after last year's failure.

I'd be too busy dreaming of the most serious World Series contender Milwaukee's had since 1982 to be mad at Fielder.

It'd be a dick move on Fielder's part, but he'd also make this the best team Milwaukee's ever had on paper, and a World Series favorite.

All that said, yeah, not happening.
