    Re: 2011 Awards Thread

Can't argue with the manager awards. Leyland was 2nd and Ron Washington 3rd in the AL. Ron Roenicke (also a 1st year manager) was 2nd and Tony LaRussa was 3rd in the NL.

Sometime in September a couple of friends and I were trying to predict the awards, and we figured that Jim Leyland would win it (even with all of his crazy lineups) unless the Rays came back all the way and won the Wild card, where Maddon would obviously win it.

Yep, can't really argue with those picks here though i'm sure if the voting was done after the season (I think they're done just before the regular season is over) La Russa might've won it in the NL.

As much as I wanted Halladay to win it, well deserved by Kershaw. Great season for him.

I don't necessarily agree with pitchers winning the MVP, but in this case I don't really have a problem with Verlander winning it.

I don't like pitchers winning it, they already have the Cy. However, Verlander is deserving.

I don't agree. But congrats to Verlander. It looks like Braun is going to win the NL MVP. (Based on the Voting)

Fielders can't win Cy Young. Ridiculous. CYA for pitchers. MVP for fielders.
