Lynn Henning from Detroit (Satan as people call him) had Ian Kinsler 5th. Lol. His reason was his slightly above average OPS of .832. That's a great argument.

No but RBI's and Runs scored are dependent on your teammates getting on base and hitting with RISP. If he didn't play for a team like the Yankees he wouldn't have 119 RBI's and 136 runs scored.

Detroit sweeps the AL CY Young and MVp, can LA do it in the NL?

I'm hoping for Kemp but I think Braun will win it just because of the playoff team. But not many expected a pitcher to win so I guess there's a good chance Kemp might win.

The person who finished last in the voting was DAVID ROBERTSON. Ha. He had 1 total point. Who put his name anywhere near an MVP ballot?

Was hoping Alex Gordon would get a few more votes, but I can't be too sad. At least he got three.

                        Congrats to JV.
A pitcher won the MVP, can the writers now end the absurd idea that an MVP should be on a playoff team? Kemp was only .013 points from a triple crown, and he had more HR & SB, and if the Dodgers had played their 162nd game, then he could have gone 40-40.

I'm totally fine with Verlander winning the MVP award. He basically had the exact same season that Roger Clemens did when he won his MVP back in 1986.

I don't get the "fielders can't win Cy Young Award so pitchers shouldn't win MVP." Sure position players cannot win the Cy Young award, but they also have their own "offensive superiority award" in the Hank Aaron Award which pitchers cannot win either. Cy Young Award for pitchers, Hank Aaron Award for hitters, MVP is free-for-fall because it's the Most Valuable Player, not Hitter. If a pitcher was considered more valuable than any hitter, then it should be fine especially since it rarely happens in the first place.

I think a way to fix up some gray areas would have the Cy Young be the most valuable pitcher. So a pitcher wins that, MVP is a fielder.

Or Change MVP to the best player, so both awards will be given to the best at each position and not valuable.

That's why I hate when people say "Pitchers have their own MVP, the CY Young." It's not true.
