Re: Trade Deadline Thread
Wow easily the best rotation in baseball!!!
Weaver
Greinke
Haren
Wilson
Richards or Santana
Nobody in baseball can come close to that 1 thru 4... Absolutely love the deal!! Have a good feeling Zack will get locked up as well... Said he wanted to go to the Braves, Cards or Angels...
Halos in 2012!!Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
The trade went down when I was out of internet.
Man......what a rotation. And they got him for nothing. Too bad the Braves couldn't do it. Oh well, tough to pull the trigger on something if he's gonna command over a hundred million bucks in the offseason anyway.Comment

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
From Angels side, Yeah It's probably nothing but from the Brewers it's pretty good value for a 2 month rental.
Best Rotation. Yup. But Grienke in a big market, we shall see.Wolverines Packers Cubs Celtics

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
I guess this can work for the Angels if they can resign him. I think it would of been better if they moved Richards since there's already good pitching at the major league level. Then again, with Greinke and upcoming FA Ervin Santana doing his best Oliver Perez impression, keeping Richards makes sense.Comment

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
Solid move by the Giants. Provides them with some depth at 2B, 3B, and SS. He's a decent replacement for Sandoval if he lands on the DL.Comment

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
Angels are a big market size wise, but Anaheim is much more laid back than say New York, or Philly or even Chicago. The pressure of a big market team simply doesn't exist in southern California.Comment

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
BK, looks like Segura is a 10-15 HR guy with good speed and can get on base. Is that a good picture of him. Probably, a good glove, too. I think Boone was saying if Hellweg doesn't cut it as a starter, he could be a back of the bullpen guy.
As Matrix said, the Brewers had to get the best they could because Grienke was going to test the market anyway. It's reported Grienke was offered over 100 million for 5 yrs, but with the Hamels signing, no way was Grienke accepting.Comment

Looks like the Brewers filled a sore need they have at SS for the future.

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
So the Brewers get a speedster that was hampered with hamstring issues? Yeah, good move there.Comment

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
Hopefully, those hammy issues go away, because that is a huge hole at short for the Brewers.Comment

In a minor move, Brewers are close to trading George Kottaras to Oakland.Comment
