It may be a 3 man platoon with LeCroy, Shannon Stewart and Jacque Jones,
if Joe Maurer is not ready to Catch in the majors LeCroy may be asked to Catch more next season.

      Re: TWINS

Stewart won't spend any measurable time at DH, and Jones probably won't be with the team when spring training concludes, he'll be traded by then. LeCroy will be the team's 3rd catcher and do the bulk of the DH'ing. Don't expect Mauer to falter. He may not hit .300, but he'll hit well enough to stay in the line-up 4 out of every 5 games, and his defense will be rock-solid. They're not asking him to bat clean-up. He'll be fine.

twins sign 3 more players to minor league deals

Right-handed pitcher Kevin Tolar, left-handed pitcher Aaron Fultz and first baseman Juan Diaz agreed to deals. All were offered invitations to Spring Training at the Major League camp with Minnesota.

                        Re: TWINS

Aaron Fultz is a decent pickup considering the Twins' financial status. He had a tough year in Texas last year, but was pretty decent in San Francisco. He'll probably be a part of the 'pen that pitches when the Twins are behind or blowing a team out.

As for picking up another player, I hope the Twins go out and get another pitcher whether it be a starter or a reliever. If it be a starter, I'd like to see Kenny Rogers back with the Twins. Another option would be Damion Moss who is a solid left-handed arm and he's still pretty young. There has also been some talk of the Twins signing Ugueth Urbina who would close, meaning the Twins would possibly move somebody out of the bullpen. My vote would be to use Rincon in the rotation.

Here's how the rotation looks as of today:

                        Johan Santana
                        Brad Radke
                        Kyle Lohse
                        Grant Balfour
                        JD Durbin

Personally, I'd really like to see Rogers in a Twins uniform this season. That would give us another experienced arm in the rotation as opposed to having two young arms at the back of the rotation. That way, they could use the fifth spot in the rotation to develop a young arm, whether it be Balfour, Durbin, or whoever.

I'm glad Rogers won't be returning. I'd prefer to see the Twins sign Urbina and move Silva into the #4 spot in the rotation, with Durbin or Balfour battling for the #5 spot in the spring. Silva is too young and has too good an arm to be sent to middle relief or used as a set-up man. Rincon is a valuable swing man, and Fultz will be a 5th-6th inning releiver. The Twins are 1 key pitching move away form everything taking shape. If they sign a closer, you can expect Rincon or Silva to comptete for a starting job, and if they sign a starter you can expect Nathan to be the closer.

They still need to trade Jaque Jones, too.
