I'd hope so....I agree Jake and Strop wouldn't have gotten Garza, but some combination of Eduardo Rodriguez/Xavier Avery/LJ Hoes/Nick Delmonico/Josh Hader might have.

Felman in the AL is risky but he's still better than most of what the BAL Has.

for Cubs It's a perfect fit. Arrieta has some value for them and they got more international pool money so they can Sign SS Torres and most likely OF Jimenez #2/#3 guys internationally.

Problem is, of the guys you listed 2 are injured, and 2 certainly haven't pitched like they are better than him.

The only one w/ better #s is Chen.

Feldman has been better than everyone else. better FIP/XFIP. Feldman K/9 is not better than those guys but Feldman should benifit from a better defense in BAL.

I'll grant you Feldman has been a little lucky this year but I disagree that he will not help BAL.

edit: Just realized a few of those guys didn't have many starts (Injuries), but I still say Feldman is better options than them. Time will tell.

But would adding a little more be enough to get you Garza, Nolasco, or Norris? I don't think it would. The asking price right now is probably pretty high for the 3 pitchers you mentioned.

I think this trade is similar to the Joe Saunders trade last year. Not a superstar by any means, but a decent back of the rotation guy that didn't cost much.

Now I'll be extremely disappointed if this is the only trade they make. This team is a few pieces away from being a serious contender.

The general consensus is the Royals are in on Chase Utley but I can't imagine Philly trading him nor could I imagine the Royals paying for his asking price.

I also saw that people think Ervin Santana is on the block but I bet Dayton will keep him and get the draft pick or try to resign him.

Could be about Free Agency. I'd have to think SPs would try to steer clear of extreme (EDIT: hitter's) parks and meat-grinding lineups of the AL East if given the chance, so their #s look better.

I was a big Torreyes supporter. Sad to see him go. The Stros know how to pick the little guys too (Altuve).

Where's Garza gonna be traded to? Anyone have a guess? I think the playing field is pretty level right now with several teams being a possibility.

Depending on prospects, would be awesome if that deal happened. I'd deal Rasmus. Davis in OF would be good enough. He won't drive in runs like Rasmus, but he'd get on base much more times, and one of best in the league in base stealing. Jays problem has been getting guys on base. Everyone knows Jays can hit home runs, but 64 of their 108 home runs(59%) have come with NOBODY on. That's what kills our pitchers and hurts out batters. Our pitchers let up home runs with guys on, but batters get home runs with nobody on.

Your guess is as good as mine on who's going to land him. I wouldn't count out the Red Sox or the Padres though, because of the Epstein and/or Hoyer ties there.

I'd be disappointed if we sent him to San Diego and didn't get Austin Hedges back.

Blue Jays interested in Utley and Garza. God I hate our GM.

Also, the asking price for Garza to the Orioles was Jonathan Schoop and Eduardo Rodriguez. *everything per MLBTR*

MLBTR had an article last week saying that Atlanta had interest in Joba. I would be interested but at a low price.
