Re: 2013 Trade Deadline Thread
As a Phillies fan (obviously), what would you think of what our blogger/wannabe insider is suggesting? I think it'd be a laughably horrendous trade for you guys.
now that I think about it, Arencibia could be going back too. Seems like a real Amaro guy."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Yeah, that's why I included Gose. Always thought you guys would like him back.

Re: 2013 Trade Deadline Thread
I agree. It would be horrendous. I haven't heard many good things about Hayhurst as an insider so I would take anything he says with a grain of salt. I would definitely love to have Gose back, but I can't really see a package from the Blue Jays for Lee that would blow Amaro away. Granted Lee makes a lot of money but he is under control through 2015 with an option for 2016, so a team would most likely have to blow the Phillies through the roof with an offer."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

6 games left on this homestand. 3 with the Nationals and 3 with the White Sox. Phils are currently 3-1 on the homestand so far, so decisions will be made either way come the All-Star break.Comment

If the Marlins were to listen to offers for Cishek, they’d likely command another team’s top prospect.
Hypothetically, let’s say the Tigers were interested in Cishek. To get the Marlins’ full attention, they’d probably have to have Nick Castellanos, Detroit’s No. 1 prospect according to MLB.com, in the package."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 Trade Deadline Thread
Mitchell Boggs traded to Colorado for international signing bonus money.
Had to be done, Boggs isn't working in St. Louis so a change of scenery will hopefully work well for him. When he's effective he is great but he has just been getting pounded in every opportunity he has gotten this year.
I hope he can turn it around in Colorado, very low risk move for the Rockies for an arm that can be a great setup man if he can get right, definitely not a closer though.Favorite Teams:

Re: 2013 Trade Deadline Thread
Red Sox have added lefty Matt Thorton for Brandon Jacobs. Thorton hasn't done well but Jacobs isn't a significant loss at all, so i think it could end well.Come hang with me on YouTube! I stream/make videos on a variety of games from sports, to action, to adventure!

Re: 2013 Trade Deadline Thread
Why? He hasn't done anything truly productive down in the minors, granted he did have that injury and lately has heated up (which helped his value) but i didn't like him. Thorton should be a pretty nice LOOGY for the Red Sox for the remainder of the year.Come hang with me on YouTube! I stream/make videos on a variety of games from sports, to action, to adventure!

Re: 2013 Trade Deadline Thread
He has great tools and has put together a .346 wOBA in his time in the minors (not including all of 2 games this year obviously). Underrated because of a bad batting average."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment
