PTBNL situation has been cleared up by the front office. Hoyer said the PTBNL will be (a) pitcher(s).

Option one is we get a single pitcher, presumably Neil Ramirez.

Option two is two players, who I would assume to be lower level prospects whose values add up to whoever the guy in option one is.

This is purely speculation, but since Ramirez has been in the talks, I'm assuming that we had some issues with something in his medicals. That would explain the first deal falling through at the last minute. With the PTBNL situation, we buy ourselves some time to see if Ramirez is okay (no clue what may be wrong with him) and if he isn't, we get the choice of two other guys of comparable value.

Still for a 2 month Rental, great job.
I would've loved to see the Cubbies get Odor too! They really are going to be a force in a few years with Baez, Soler, Jimenez, and now Olt, Edwards, Grimm, and 2 PTBNLs. They needed a trade like this, and I was hoping they would get a great haul (which they did) just not from the Red Sox!

Isn't his OBP, like, .290? Decent move to inject some power into their lineup but not a very scary move overall.

Also, Valbuena and Navarro will be gone by the end of the week.

Over the last 20 games, Soriano is hitting .296, 10 homers, and a 1.066 OPS. Also 86 ABs. Not a bad trade for the Yanks, but not confirmed. It is also reported that Chicago will most likely pay most of the rest of his contract.

Reports in Chicago right now is they'll pay 18 of the 24 owed.

Also @AC I don't think Valbuena is getting traded. The FO love his ability too work counts and get on base.

More than likely after Soriano. Schierholtz, Gregg, Navarro, & Russell are next.

Man, you guys must be getting a good 'spect back is they're willing to pay 18/24mm. I'm afraid to say this, but Heathcott?

Yea, you guys are most likely going to sell all assets over 28-29.

It'd be nice to see Soriano back in pinstripes again. I'm sure he'll get a warm welcome by the Yankee faithful.

Soriano can still be an upgrade over some of the garbage we are throwing out there so I'll take it.

I would to hate to see Valbuena leave, he's been very good this year. Ignore the average he's been quite suprising.

Hell yes, bring Soriano back to the Bronx, he would be a major upgrade over who were throwing out there right now.

Really shocked to see the positive feedback from Yankee fans on soriano.

Theo and Jed are flying down to Arizona right now to explain it to him & see if hell waive his 10/5 rights.

If we get a decent pitcher in return its a win-win.

I love soriano but its time to move on again.

                                Market inefficiencies have changed.

At one point, it was on base guys. Next it was defensive studs. Now it's old geezers.

I'm hoping the Tigers talk to the Brewers about picking up some relief guys. K-rod and Mike Gonzalez should be available since they're expirings and the Axe because of his salary. Regardless, the Tigers need to upgrade the bullpen and stay away from Papelbon. Adding a bench guy could be good too.
