I don't listen to anything he says. He's a pathological liar. I've said it before. Anything he says I think the opposite. He is the most close to the chest GM there is. You don't bring up Cody Asche just to send him back down again in a few days. Not that I think a deal with the Red Sox for Cliff Lee would happen now, but I can guarantee you if the Red Sox said they would include Xander Bogaerts in a deal, he would pull that trigger.

We're talking about the same guy who said the Phillies were NOT in talks for Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt, and Hunter Pence. Ended up getting all of them. He doesn't tell the public what they want to hear.

It looks like the Royals are going after a second baseman. They've discussed Gordon Beckham, Howie Kendrick, Erick Aybar and Kevin Frandsen.

I personally like Aybar or Kendrick (preferably Aybar since he's more athletic) if we can get the Angels to pay his contract. I don't feel comfortable with trading with White Sox and Frandsen isn't really a long term solution at the position.

It looks like the Royals are going after a second baseman. They've discussed Gordon Beckham, Howie Kendrick, Erick Aybar and Kevin Frandsen.

Love this move for the Tigers.

I like Veras. If he can continue to keep his walks down, he'll be great. He also has a team option for next year, so if he's good he'll help us next year too and if he stinks up the joint, they'll cut bait. This, combined with Dotel possibly coming back at some point would make our bullpen passable. With Coke having a down year, the Tigers could use another loogy and maybe a bat off the bench.

I'm sure everybody knows this but just to back up rumors, Michael Young, Bud Norris, Jake Peavy have all been scratched tonight for their respective teams.

As for rumors, there are rumors that teams are nibbling on Emilio Bonifacio (Really?!?) and AA is trying to deal Melky out of town.

As for rumors, there are rumors that teams are nibbling on Emilio Bonifacio (Really?!?) and AA is trying to deal Melky out of town.

Where did you see that Michael Young was scratched? All news outlets here in Philly still have him listed as in the lineup and the game starts in 15 minutes.

Thanks for that, apparently it was news given out by one of the radio hosts here in Toronto. I guess either things changed or he read an outdated report though he did confirm the "Young would consider Boston" thing.

It was a deal that worked out for both teams. If you look at it Colby is statistically one of the top OFs around now and the Cards got their WS rings in 2011.

Yeah. Young apparently told the Phillies that his preference is to be dealt to back to Texas, but Boston is his second choice if a deal can't be reached with Texas. I expect him gone come tomorrow. You don't bring up your top 3rd base prospect to have him rot on the bench. Already been confirmed that Asche will be in the lineup tomorrow night.
