But we have virtually nothing for depth at SS behind Peralta, don't even try to sell me on Danny Worth lol, so when he gets suspended we actually have a contingency in place. Not to mention the fact Iglesias is under team control for what, 5 years? Putting him next to Cabrera on the left side of the infield is exactly what the Tigers need, regardless of what he can do at the plate.

I'm not sure what you mean regarding Garcia's body type. He's a big dude with exceptional speed and a power arm, he's the prototypical RFer. This is the first I've ever heard of him projected as an infielder. At this point he's capable of playing all 3 outfield spots
Actually, I'm with you there too B. I did like Avi but I think he was expendable.

Never heard any talk about him in the infield either. Not sure how well that would work out lol.

The Veras trade was just what the doctor ordered too, IMO.

There's not much to debate with you since you're negative about every aspect of this team, always, but an upgrade is an upgrade. It gives more flexibility to Melvin to work his magic, gives him the ability to give JD a night off, and takes this whole platoon strategy a step further. I'd rather see Rosales as the odd man out rather the Sogard.

I don't understand the mentality behind if we aren't going to make a big splash don't make a splash at all. An upgrade is an upgrade, this whole team is made up of pieces. We don't need an Utley.

In recent days, the Blue Jays have expressed geniune interest in Angels second baseman Howie Kendrick, according to Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet. While the Blue Jays aren't buyers in the traditional sense, they are looking at ways of addressing needs for 2013 and beyond.

Kendrick, 30, will earn the prorated portion of $8.75MM in 2013, $9.35MM in 2014, and $9.5MM in 2015 before hitting free agency. This season, Kendrick is hitting .301/.344/.446 with eleven homers and is looking stronger than he did in 2012.

The Angels have also discussed Kendrick with the Royals as Kansas City combs the market for a second baseman. According to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times, the Halos would require a front-line, Major League or MLB-ready starting pitcher for Kendrick or Erick Aybar. This morning, DiGiovanna noted that the club is fielding numerous inquiries on Kendrick, who has a no-trade list of a dozen teams.

I get what his role would be and yes anybody>Rosales.....I wasn't expecting a *big splash* due to our financial situation......even in a platoon/utility man situation, I just don't think he'll put up enough offensive production....hopefully he proves me wrong

Hmmm.... Interesting. Wonder if he's headed to the Cardinals since the need catching following Molina's injury.

Oh yea now the Angels finally figure out they need pitching. I'd have rather taken Kendrick instead of Colaspo but if it took Green to get Colaspo the price for Kendrick is too high.

this was what I was kinda getting at......I woulda much preferred Kendrick as well but not at the Angels' asking price

                    This could be interesting.

RE the Lee non-trade, I'm wondering if the Phillies have this huge TV deal coming, why wouldn't they be willing to eat some of Lee's contract to get a better package (if they honestly are motivated to move him)?

Don't worry they'll get neither unless the Rangers literally give away every blue chipper they have for at least one of those bats. The Jays are not in total sell mode as it's more a re-jigging which will mean AA will go for more well rounded players in the offseason.

I'm a little surprised the Blue Jays aren't trying to ship Buehrle out though as he's pitching like the Buehrle of a couple years ago over his last few starts. He'd be a great pick up for a team looking for a pitcher. I also expect AA to try and deal Melky despite that report only saying Bonifacio is available.

Joc Pederson isn't in the starting lineup down in AA (Dodgers) tonight. I don't really see any upgrades that they need to make, maybe second base or the bullpen but at this point, I really think they're making moves just to make them at this point.

                                Haha! Jim Bowden just tweeted:

Or how about Greg Holland for Joc Pederson! That would be a real kicker for me as a Royals fan... Greg Holland might be one of the best closers in the American League though. I think we'd have to have Zach Lee too.
