    Re: NL East

It's going to be a tougher battle for the Braves this year than it has been in a long, long time. However, I still think we've got a good shot at the division. A lot depends on how LaRoche works out at 1B.

the Braves will be good, they always are...i think the annual rite of dismissal of the Braves stems more from the fact that every year they win the division, and then promptly suck in the postseason.....i know for me, each year i cant wait to see the Braves eliminated so we can get down to the teams that actaully have some heart and a chance to win it all......i realize this screams of bashing, but thats the reality going back at least 12-13 years now...until they change it, this will be their M.O....."also-ran"

If an 'also-ran' wins a World Series, then so be it. Everyone likes to point out that they have only won one WS...but how many teams haven't even made the playoffs in the last 12 years...let alone been to and won a world series?

understood....the Braves have been a GREAT squad since what, 1991? i am not now nor have i ever said anything less....i know they won the world series once, but they also LOSRT 4 of them...now, granted, getting to the WS is very hard to do, especially 5 times in a decade...but, getting there is only part of the battle, you then have to WIN it....at the very least win as many as you lose....now, if they had gone 3-2 or even 2-3 in those world series, it would be an entirely different story....the point i was trying to make, is that noone (im probably exaggerating here) except Braves fans wants to see the Braves in the postseason, noone, because you know that if they make it to the world series, they will lose.....i know how stupid it sounds, but its just my opinion, and also the opinion of many others i know.....having said that, it doesnt make me right ....peace and no hard feelings....and, im a Met fan (2-1 in the world series by the way), so i dont exactly have a huge winning tradition with which to put up against the Braves here lol

Yeah, didn't the new look Mets finish 34 games behind the Braves last year? LOL

You're right though...no one but Braves fans want to see them in the playoffs...I can admit that. But hey...name me another team that's went to the playoffs for 12 years in a row...winning their division in every one of those years.

It simply hasn't happened. The team just falls apart when it becomes crunch time. All I know is that I'd much rather have a shot at the WS than to finish 34 games behind the division winner.
