They would have looked even more stupid when they tried to suspend him for life, it got defeated, A-Rod was reinstated effective immediately, and paid back pay for all the time he misses. This way, they'll probably get the original suspension knocked down in arbitration to 150 or 100 games without pay. That is a much more desirable outcome for MLB than the former.

I'm not letting you get away with that simple statement and EXPLAIN AWAY his perpetual behavior and attitude. Defend what you're saying. In light of how he has acted in the past, how CAN you take what he says as positive, especially when it has a narcissistic slant? Fighting for my life? Really? So he would have to stop playing baseball right now and his life would be over?

Re: The Biogenesis/Suspension thread
Teary-eyed press conference or not, I don't think ANY of these guys are "sorry" for using PEDs. Otherwise, they would have never done them in the first place. Now, I'm not one of those idiots who's all like, "They did PEDs so that means they're criminals!" or anything like that, either. The bottom line is that there were rules in place that they were all very aware of ahead of time and they all made a conscious decision to break said rules in order to get a leg up on the competition. It all boils down to risk vs. reward. They took the risks, reaped the rewards, but now they have to pay the price.
The only thing these guys are really sorry for, is that they got caught.Comment

Re: The Biogenesis/Suspension thread
That's the thing though, His life is Baseball. That's his sanctuary that is where he makes his living. I can't blame a guy for saying something like that. Especially if that's all he has ever done for what almost 20 years now? All I've heard from yesterday was that Arod was faking it, he was trying to make himself cry, he was purposely doing the dramatic pauses. Again, rarely anything Arod can say is taken positively. As a Yankee fan though I can take him trying to get back to the field and trying to make the playoffs as a positive thing especially with out production at 3B so far this year.Comment

Re: The Biogenesis/Suspension thread
His suspension isn't based on anything recent. They supposedly have evidence going back quite a ways. He's had a relationship with the guy who ran this place for years. And he told them everything. Another reason that the suspension is so severe is because he and his associates were interfering with the investigation.

Sources said the evidence goes back to 2010, including 2011 and 2012. Those last two years weren't really impressive. Also the hypocrisy with Arod is insane. I'm pretty sure that Melky Cabrera and his associates interfered last year when he got suspended, yet there was no additional discipline for Melky.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: The Biogenesis/Suspension thread
I brought up that exact thing earlier in this thread, and no one responded. It seemed like more a joke with Cabrera. Now Rodriguez does something similar, and people are up in arms. Now he allegedly tampered with witnesses or evidence, but it's still trying to throw off the investigation.Comment

Anyone else kinda surprised Bartolo Colon wasn't suspended? I thought he was one of the guys linked and probably would've been a big hit for the A's if he was suspended. Now the A's still have Colon and the Rangers lose Cruz.Denver Broncos

He wasn't suspended again because he served his 50 day suspension last year.Comment
