It's also now pretty clear that Braun and his team purposely shifted the blame for his legitimate failing of the drug test off of the player and onto an individual Braun knew was innocent of the implication but who had mangled things just enough himself that combined with a near Oscar worthy performance from Braun and a strange/confusing exoneration, the explicit stating that evidence had been found pointing towards tampering by the collector may actually be enough to fool the public into believing Braun really was clean and innocent of the charge levied against him by MLB.

And he was largely succeeding in that, having swayed many into believing that maybe the collector really had maliciously framed Braun - all while Braun apparently continuing to use PEDs. Right? (I actually do not recall if we know that he continued using. If wrong, apologies.)

I don't feel this way about most others, but screw Ryan Braun. I don't think that **** he pulled is cool.
According to the Biogenesis report, the only indication that Braun bought PED's from them was in the summer of 2011. He had nagging injuries that year and I'm speculating he used them to help him recover quicker.

If he comes out with a heartfelt apology to everyone he lied to, especially the collector, the Brewer team, the Brewer organizatin, Brewer fans and all baseball fans across the country, I can fogive him. I won't forget, and neither will the baseball writers if he has a HOF career.

It will take a long long time to repair the road he damaged. I don't feel he can ever fix it, but he's halfway decent if he comes out and apologizes to everyone.

I agree with all of this too. But I have to say, the time to make THAT apology was when he spoke before. I think the fact he didn't at least apologize to the collector before will always leave a mark. He's still got time since everyone can understand that he shouldn't be talking right now but he did miss a big opportunity.

I wouldn't be surprised that speech was written by his law team. It still doesn't make it an excuse at all, but those words don't sound like the Braun I knew when he first came up in the organization.

Personally, I don't want to see Rodriguez get a lifetime ban. I want to see him play again.

That's right. I want his old self to try and succeed, and fail trying. I want every ballpark in the nation (including Miami where he would play his home turf on) to boo every time he comes up to bat or has a ball hit to him. I want to see him retire on his own terms because the punishment of ridicule would supersede any ban punishment.

I just want to see him die trying. He wants it, and deserves it.

he still gets paid if he plays again, so I don't think he will care, he will laugh it off while looking at his bank account

Punishment of ridicule= $86 million over the next 4 years
                Lifetime ban= $0

I think he can deal with some boos.

He might not be out of the legal woods yet. He could still be in for libel/slander charges and who knows what else. Not saying anything incriminating is the legal way to go until whatever statutes of limitations have passed. Then he'll go on Oprah jump around on some furniture or whatever, ghost write a book, and become a motivational speaker after he retires.

I don't know all the details, but I find it hard to believe that Arod is the only person in this entire PED mess that warrants a suspension for life. Especially since he's technically never failed a test. I thought a suspension of a 100 games would be enough but it seems like They want to go way over that.

If they're going for the life ban, they're factoring in obstruction of the investigation and all that. Can't say I would have much of a problem with it if that's the case. I probably wouldn't go with the lifetime ban even with that if I were deciding it, but I wouldn't make it a point to oppose it or make much of a stand against it. It'd be understandable.

Still not sure how it will play out. MLB has been leaking this for awhile now, clearly they would prefer he take a deal, and most of the people who have been reporting on this have said they don't see a lifetime ban sticking regardless of what evidence they have. Still, A-Rod's risking a lot of money not taking the deal so we'll see if he does at the last minute.

I'd love to get out of that contract so go MLB.
