Ummm, what do you think it means? It means Manfred is stupid enough to have his "investigation unit" tell him "boss here is the report ready" on April 22th but then him saying, "nah, I'm going to sit on it and release it the day before Opening Day".

Oh, I was more under the impression of maybe they would instead spend more time investigating. Forget it, I sounded stupid.

I don't think it was a dumb question or made you sound stupid. I didn't really understand it either.

I think releasing it now is taking the easy way. There will hardly be any scrutiny of it because that's the least of anyone's worries right now.

I could care less about that at this moment. To me, this is like the equivalent of a team holding onto a big news drop until a moment they can release it when it will get swept under the rug.

It depends when the investigation was completed. If it was completed recently then that's that, you can't fault MLB for releasing it now because the standard should be "release it as soon as you have it" and if it happens to coincide with a date which is beneficial to the League (because nobody is paying attention) then so be it.

If it was completed, I don't know, mid-February and he held it until now then I would have a problem with that.

BTW - from what I'm hearing, it isn't that the Boston players weren't found guilty as much as it is they didn't talk (despite having immunity). Apparently some players did talk/were found guilty, but their names will not be mentioned due to said immunity.

All in all, this seems pretty light...

I’d be shocked if any team hired them that soon. Maybe in a couple years or maybe by then the bus will have already come and gone.

What's the best make to look at for baseball cards?

Trying to get a Vlad rookie card, I've seen Topps and Donruss as 2 of the best looking ones to me.

I got my baby nephew a Vlad rookie card after looking at a few in-store. I can't remember which one I got off the top of my head, but if you post a few of them (I'll Google search right now) I think I'll remember which one it was.

EDIT: I think it was this one.

Just saw that myself. That’s hard. Hope he’s able to beat it.

Good job Astros. Well at least they got one of their meaningless rings back.

These games MLB are uploading online are nice. They really should add all these types of stuff to MLB tv. On demand content of their games.

I'm watching the Jays game vs Devil Rays from 2003. Sure, not many good or big names here, and it's a dead empty building at the end of September (more people watched this video in 2020 than fans who attended the game in 2003!) but it's the game Delgado got 4HRs.

Nice to just randomly watch old games from years back in the same quality as when it aired on TV. Full TV feed of the game.

Forgot how long it's been. Commentators were talking about the wild card and backlash it first got. WC was still newish around this time, only being around for 9 seasons now. That's how long we've currently had the 2nd WC spot for.

Well back like someone else mentioned, it would be nice if games truly were random, then you wouldn’t necessarily know that something spectacular (like Delgado’s four home runs) would happen, if that makes sense.

That being said, I get why they do it that way.

I mean in some instances it makes sense.

Jays fans probably aren't gonna watch some random September game in 2003 with no context in 2020. But it's the Delgado 4HR game so that's a reason to watch. Historic too. Only 4 at bats, all 4 were home runs, 3 of those were lead off home runs! Only AL player to ever do this at home in MLB history, 3rd overall in 100+ years. 2nd oldest ever.

Theres some nice games all around on there. I saw they also have Randy Johnsons perfect game up there, the entire 2005 home run derby, 2000 All star game and others.

I might check out the ASG. Say what you want about steroid era, but 2000 ASG had the big time guys all in this game.

I wonder what's the most star studded ASG ever. I want to see those ones. 97 seems to be one of those.
