Can I speak intelligently as to amphetamine use in the 70s? No

And can we document an absolute advantage from that anyway? Being high is as likely to hinder performance as it is to help it... unlike 'the cream' and 'the clear'

It's been widely reported that players used amphetamines like candy starting as early as the 50s/60s up through the 90s. There were bowls of "greenies" that guys had access to in the clubhouse.

Baseball finally brings amphetamines into light of day http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/column...ark&id=2225013
          via @ESPN App http://espn.com/app

This is a book that includes a chapter on the use of amphetamines in baseball: https://www.amazon.com/dp/156663668X..._VZM6EbARRXZJR

There are many, many more articles/stories that a Google search of "amphetamines baseball" will give you if you want to research more.

Amphetamines are a stimulant. They give you energy and allow you to focus more (why Ritalin is prescribed for ADHD and considered a PED). Increased energy and focus would 100% make it more likely to be a successful baseball player, especially a position player that plays 162 games in 190ish days.

Main thing I hated was how they were simply celebrating those guys accomplishments and most of the time just brushed over the fact that McGwire admitted to taking steroids. Even Sosa won't admit to it but is basically in the "I'm not saying I did or didn't, but everyone else did it so.....".

All sports throughout history theres no doubt been players or teams who have cheated. Nothing we can do about the guys long gone, but at some point they need to put their foot down and have bigger consequences for anyone in the future who gets caught.

Astros not being stripped of the title, records like Bonds still standing, those shouldn't happen.

MLB players don't say much, wouldn't mind if they picked up the NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) cause; it is intimately related to sports and it empowering for young college athletes.

Sounds like people enjoyed the MLB piece on Junior. I was a little underwhelmed.. maybe because I lived so much of it out here in Seattle.

Shocked people didn't know he hated the Yankees.

Forgot just how bad the injuries were. 70 games on average 2002-2004, 2 more seasons where he barely played 100 games. Robbed him of his shot at Hank Aaron.

Baseball America has new prospect rankings out.

As it relates to newest pick, Austin Martin is at 16. Spencer Torkelson is at 11.

More reason I'm excited for Jays future. I know rankings don't always mean so much, but fun to think their team could soon have 4 or more guys who were ranked inside the top 20 prospect rankings before breaking the majors, 3 this year alone.

I guess the Jays ran out of ex-big leaguers children to draft. unless it turns out Martin and Spencer are grandchildren of the Emperor, I dont see them having much future in MLB lol

Next year Al Leiters kid is one of the top picks, so Jays probably go after him.

Die-hard baseball fans watch it. I watched a few games but then soccer came back so I have that to watch instead.

I have seen maybe 30 minutes of it. I do like the whole stuffed animals in the stands. Wouldn't mind if some US league adopted that.
