there are plenty good names for Cleveland to change to: Lakers, Browns, Blues, Rockers, Spiders, Naps, among plenty others. I guess they won't be the Cleveland Engines though, that team would have to move to Detroit.

Former Phillies and Blue Jays pitcher Tyson Brummett was killed in a plane crash in Utah along with 3 others. Very sad.

This makes at least 3 plane crashes in the last 15 or so years which have killed a former Phillies/Jays pitcher.

Cory Lidle, Halladay and now Brummett are the ones I cam think of.

As for the Cleveland stuff, are they next?

I understand why their Wahoo logo got retired (although I'll always miss it for nostalgic purposes. They were the first team I ever knew of in baseball outside of the Jays). But the name as a whole has to be dropped?

Don't know what name they could change to if they have to change. I'd guess they couldn't do Cleveland Blues since St.Louis in NHL has the Blues?

We have Blues in hockey and Jazz in basketball. Maybe Cleveland could become Cleveland Rock (they are the home of the Rock n roll HOF. Or would Rock be too similar to Rockies?).

And would Braves change eventually too? Or just the tomahawk part of their logo? Sadly if they change only the logo, I just see the change being the generic A logo they have on their cap.

I was just reminded last night about Tommy Hanson's death (saw him in Jason Heyward's first home run video), and realized that the Angels have had a lot of pitcher deaths as well (Hanson, Adenhart, and Skaggs).

              I don't know Brummett, but R.I.P.

I don't think that's an issue. There are already team names that appear in 2 different pro sports. Rangers and Giants come to mind.

But I think theres still trademark issues.

When Vegas was getting an NHL team, they ran into trademark issues with their Golden Knights name. It wasn't even because of any pro team.

yeah, apparently bandits placed something in the road to cause a wreck so they would be able to rob them. I dont know how things turned out down there but it's 2 people murdered in my book

I had to go read up on this; I didn't realize the wreck occurred as a result of a robbery attempt. Thanks for the info...

Apparently Dave Dombrowski has joined up with a group focused on bringing Major Leage baseball to Nashville, whether it be expansion or relocation.
