Nope. Significantly throws off timing, can produce "too heavy" of a ball (it warps the core upon release), and if you run it more slowly it will become too inaccurate.

I was thinking that by getting the point across that I did, I would walk into somebody suggesting this. Players would absolutely be 100% against this.

The only thing a pitching machine would be good for is if they implement more ASG festivities, like catcher throwdowns or outfielders shagging a base hit to fire home or something.

Say what you want about the state of baseball, whether it's great, or it's dying (which it definitely isn't).

              But for the next decade...

Young fans in Philly get to grow up watching Bryce Harper.

Kids in Southern California get to grow up in the game watching Mookie Betts, Mike Trout, Cody Bellinger, Manny Machado, and Shohei Ohtani.

Kids in the northeast get to grow up watching Gerrit Cole and Xander Boegarts and Judge/Stanton.

Canada has entire core of young studs.

Plus all of the other incredibly talented guys all over the country.

That's just a really cool thought.

Kids today are the next big generation of baseball. These 8 and 9 year olds today will be getting drafted when the mega deals are over, after spending a decade watching these guys be crazy loyal.

I'm probably rambling for the sake of getting the thoughts out there, but baseball is beautiful and it's going to be just fine.

              Play ball.

I feel like a lot of guys that sign long term deals don’t finish them with the team they started.

Long term deals rarely work out.

Even Miguel Cabrera, as good as he was for years, best player in baseball, doing historic things, he's still owed over 120m for 4 more years(including this season) and doesn't seem like he'll be that 30HR, .300 hitter ever again.

Last season was his best since 2016 and even then, he hit 12HR in over 130 games.

Well, Cabrera's contract (extension) has going for it the fact that it was bad the very second it was signed.

I think dying is the wrong word to use. Baseball has never been dying. But that word grabs you when you read it. So it's always front page material when sportswriters write it.

Anyway, baseball will never die of interest worldwide. We see that with the World Baseball Classic, the game is loved in many parts of the world.

But, MLB is definitely not what it was, and neither is the allure of it in the United States. Things change, but MLB has changed for the worst.

I'm not confident at all in Manfred avoiding a lockout in 2021, which would be absolutely disastrous to this sport. Just observing how hard it was to come to a financial deal to appease both sides this year makes me feel quite uneasy .

I hope they can get their act together though. There is a great infusion of young stars and stars aligning in due to free agency and trades as you highlighted. Some great storylines and possible amazing matchups that could come to fruition.

It would be a real shame if MLB doesn't capitalize on this. But I'm not so optimistic, I'm sorry. But I will say it's nice to have MLB back in some form and long overdue.

Cleveland will be meeting with Native American groups regarding their name.

They've already changed their logo (although imo the new logo is horrible since their logo now is literally just a block C. Would've been the worst if not for the Rockies ugly CR logo).

We've seen Redskins and Eskimos dropped already in football, could Indians be next?

If they do change the name, any suggestions? Cleveland Spiders has been a popular one because of the history there. Another former team name which would be a nice one is Cleveland Buckeyes, though I'd imagine Ohio State might not let them. Cleveland Rock would also be a nice name, imagine the logo being a baseball bat shaped like a guitar(or a guitar shaped like a baseball bat?)

This was a decent concept I saw online

Every player and coach from the New York Yankees and Washington Nationals have taken a knee on the field before the first game of the 2020 MLB season.

None, however, knelt during the national anthem. It was during the pregame ceremony in which all of the players held a long, black piece of fabric and Morgan Freeman read a speech addressing social injustice.

NL playing with and without DH last year had identical OBP (.323).

Small sample size for those DH games and perhaps the lurking variable existing which is you are facing new [and possibly more dominant] pitchers in the AL, but it's still worth mentioning.
