I don't get why so many don't like the Nike logo on jerseys. Is it the placement of the logo or the logo in general?

Even ads on jerseys, I don't mind them as long as they're clothing brands.

Doesn't matter if its Nike, Adidas or whoever, those ones on sports jerseys I'm fine with.

Seeing a Best Buy, GE, McDonalds logo or something on it is different (although what the NBA did with colourizing the logo to match the respective team is the most tolerable part of the ads).

Probably the placement. Would be better on the end of the sleeve, or like Majestic would put theirs essentially where you tuck it into your pants. Instead, Nike wants to be loud with it. It feels like a college baseball uniform now.

It could possibly partly be the logo as well, though. Nike is so well known that I know I'm looking at a brand logo. Sometimes when I say Majestic or New Era, I'm not even thinking that's a clothing company of any sort because I feel like all they do are baseball jerseys and caps.

You'll never get me to like the Nike uniform as it is now. I'll unlikely purchase a jersey because of it. It may sound silly, but hey they won't get my money.

I love when leagues switch brands. All the old gear ends up being so cheap.

Might have been a mistake, but I got 2 Majestic Jays jerseys for Christmas, each were $30 or so with names on them. Vlad and Bo. Price was never that cheap again. Sure, it wasn't stitched on names, but I'll take it. It's a better quality shirsey for the same price

And when NHL switched from Reebok to Adidas, I got a Reebok jersey for $90 or so. The Adidas one looks the exact same, and costs $200.

The logos are obtrusive and they look amateur.

It's a professional sports league and the uniforms are worn by professionals. Having company logos front and center just doesn't jive. The only things that should be on the jerseys is the jersey design.

Entire place is filled with ads. Don't need jerseys to have logos too. They belong to the team.

Maybe you didn't read what I said about it. Or maybe my opinion isn't a concern in this case, I dunno.

In reality, they're noticeable, and it's not "forgotten about." Clearly because I'm posting about it, that is an indication of something. See, if we don't say anything about it, then people will think that means we've accepted it (those who hadn't prior); if we do say something about it, we're complaining about the same thing over and again. Damned if we do, damned if we don't.

You don't have to accept it. But it'd be easier, on you if you did, because it isn't going anywhere any time soon.

That goes for pretty much everything in baseball that the purists hate.

No. I don't like the change and I'm going to bitch about it. And it's not your place to tell me what I should accept or not accept. Or attribute reasons as to why someone might find them to be obtrusive. Maybe nobody found the Majestic one annoying because it was super small and on the sleeve away from frontal visibility.

I know these things aren't going anywhere. But I'm going to bitch about them and anything else I don't like because I'm allowed to have an opinion. Being annoying is all there is to be. Sorry if that bothers you.

It's not really, but because there's been nothing there fo so long the Nike logo feels gaudy. Many of the changes in baseball I like/am ambivalent about, but man the Nike logo throws me everytime I see it. Especially, strangely, on the pants. But ah well, I'll get used to Nike logos/blandness in every American sports soon enough.
