Watching Jays-Braves WS. Funny moment relevant to today, Bobby Cox got ejected by a guy in his first ever World Series. Joe West.

Sure, Cox did throw a helmet on the field, but funny to see Joe West all the way back then, getting hated on.

Can't believe what I just read in those two articles.

Also, I had no idea he was a career .290 hitter, especially given the "meh" seasons in Anaheim.

I guess you can learn things from play by play guys in old games.

Never realized that in 1993 when Olerud,Molitor,Alomar finished top 3 in batting average that they were the first group of teammates to do that since fittingly enough the Phillies (the team they beat in the WS)...exactly 100 years prior!

Look out 2093 Blue Jays, you guys got your hands filled against the next big trio.

I think I said it before but I'll say it again, John Kruk really looks like he'd be an early 90s wrestler. Like a Duke the Dumpster type of guy.

And Randy Johnson was almost a Blue Jay! Would've had him until 98? Not just would they have won 93WS, imagine the future there. Maybe even Hentgen,Clemens and Johnson on that 97 team?

Another crazy stat I heard on the Starting 9 podcast.

Al Kaline is the only player to hit 300+ home runs and never hit 30 in a season. And the only two seasons in his 22-year career that he didn't hit double digit home runs were his age-18 and age-19 seasons.

Re-watching the 05 playoff run by the Jays. What could have been if they had a legit ace on the pitching staff?

                      Favorite all-time Blue Jay?

                      I'm going with Carlos Delgado.

Management blew that era big time.

You had Delgado, one of most consistent hitters who could get you 30-40HR and over 100RBI a year.

Halladay in his peak, winning a Cy Young as well.

Up and coming stars like Vernon Wells and Aaron Hill.

                        Definitely could've been a 90 win team.

                            They had Price, Estrada, Stroman.

They just fell apart in the Royals series, and got screwed in game 6(the fact that the media actually interviewed that kid AND acted like he was right still makes me mad). The issue with that team is that they only had 1 way to win. Take that away and they failed.

They had chances at the end of game 6 to tie up the game, but were relying too much on trying to get a homer that they couldnt advance the runner. Small ball would've gotten them at least to extra.
