    Tough news to read.

Jays have fired Roberto Alomar as special advisor after sexual harassment complaint filed against him in the workplace.

Hope it's not true. He's the face of the franchise, and the model Blue Jay.

Cancel culture calling for his number to be unrefined and his HOF banner taken down from Rogers Centre. People really going overboard.

Blue Jays just announced they are taking down his HOF banner and his name from the level of excellence.

      That's unbelievable in my opinion.

That sucks to hear. Baseball hall of fame said his plaque is staying up.

Remember the player, not the incident that happened in his post playing career.

Feels like a big part of Jays history will forever be tarnished now because of all this.

Jays history as a whole is something I guess we need to move on from? Halladay died and we find out about the demons he was battling on and off the field, and now Alomar with all this stuff. Those are the 2 main guys in franchise history.

Jays cutting all ties to Alomar is heartbreaking to hear but you know why it's happening.

Of all the bad moments as a sports fan, this one cuts deep.

Tarnished? Really? That sounds pretty strong.

I appreciate what athletes do on the field and I separate it from what they're like off the field. I don't expect them to be choir boys. Like most of us they have personality flaws and exercise poor judgement at time. I don't feel like it diminishes the team history at all.

Whenever Jays history is talked about (at least on TV), he won't be mentioned. Basically blacklisted from Jays history. And future alumni events, he won't be around for it (to this day he had one of the bigger presences around the community of all former players).

We still got Joe!!! That game winning home run call is still more legendary than any one player.

He said he was good with Tatis taunting him back.

He didn't say he was okay with the sign peaking.

He's said before that he is fine with that kind of sign "stealing". It is the use of technology that kills him, but he has talked about in the past that it is a natural part of the game and something the pitcher and catcher have to work towards minimizing.

The more I watch extra innings, more I'm wondering who the runner on 2nd rule favours more, the home or road team?

The road team gets the first * shot to take the lead in extras, and in the off chance they don't score, they also know they can afford to walk a guy if needed the following inning since that guy doesn't matter to the score.

Edit-As I typed this, Braves did it TWICE to the Jays in the same inning, although the Braves lost so....

I mean, that's not how I interpreted his quote but okay.

“That’s the type of stuff that would get you hit in other games," Bauer said. "Now, I’m mild-mannered about it…flip the bat, do all that stuff, fine. If you’re gonna look at the signs, not OK, and if you do it again, the team that you’re playing probably isn’t gonna take too kindly to it, and there might have to be some on-field stuff.”
To me, him saying "Not okay" generally means he's not okay with it.

I think walking a guy in the bottom of the inning is the right call if you didn’t score in the top. The one exception being if you have no faith in your pitcher to throw strikes, it wouldn’t be wise to walk someone and then potentially walk the next batter to load the bases

Guess he has changed his stance compared to what he was saying back when the Astros story was the dominant story.
