Re: MLB Off-Topic
On the note of Vegas, the timeframe I saw was January 2024 for the As to for sure have a plan 100% in place or else. But what would be the earliest that Vegas would actually get games? 2024? 2025?Nobody's expecting it to be sold out, it's rare to see ballparks packed to full capacity anyways. But if a 40,000 seat stadium gets anywhere in the 20,000s on average, that's an improvement over Oakland.
It'll suck to see Oakland fans not have a team anymore, but I wonder how many will just wind up being fans of the Giants, or the Vegas team instead of just tuning out of baseball.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: MLB Off-Topic
I keep seeing that they'd need a retractable roof in Vegas. Not if they play all the summer games at night. They could play during the day in April and into May, then maybe in September.
I don't like retractable roof stadiums, they always look too closed off.Comment

Anyone else remember when the Twins almost moved to NC? I'd love to hear more about that, being a NC native and how (decently) well the Hurricanes fared when they moved in 1997.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
So the deadline is January 2024, but if they don't reach a deal, would the MLB outright say 2024 is the As final season in Oakland and as of November 2024 or something they are moving to Vegas?
Would give Vegas a year to at least prep a new ballpark/upgrade the AAA one (maybe add 10,000 temporary seats so the stadium has 20,000, and then spend the next year or two on top of that building a new park?)Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
They need a big neon slot machine centerpiece in the outfield that goes nuts when a Vegas player hits a home run.
Sorry Oakland folks, I'm already planning the Vegas stadium detailsComment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Hit a ball into a giant roulette wheel in CF that just spins and spins all game long. Place your bets before the game on what number/colour the ball will land on.
Then have a giant slot machine in LF where if a player hits the machine, the handle gets pulled. You never know when it'll hit the jackpot and money just shoots out.
And also a season long bingo game in RF. Every time the ball lands in the bingo zone, a bingo ball gets pulled out. Fans must purchase their card before the season begins, and throughout the season they might slowly get to fill out their bingo card. One row complete gets you a jersey. Two rows gets you tickets to a game. A full card gets you season tickets.
I think we might be on to something.Last edited by Majingir; 03-07-2023, 07:58 PM.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
also, if Miami's mascot is Billy Marlin then any betting town like Vegas has to have Pet Rose as it's mascot.
and if Vegas is ever allowed into the baseball family, Charlie Hustle gonna be spinning in his graveOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Turn the whole OF into a casino.
