Re: MLB Off-Topic
But I'm sure certain MLB employees, past and present, would prefer Ichiro be recognized as the all-time hits king over that guy who played in Cincinatti ...Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
They obviously don't OFICCIALLY think of Ichiro as 2nd on the all time hit list, it's certainly entertaining to see he's gotten that many hits thoug, even if a chunk of them were in JapanComment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Nonetheless, it's entertaining to see him get close to 3,000 hits, and eventually see him get that 3,000th hit, especially after coming from Japan at age 27.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
That's the most impressive thing for me. To get to 3,000 after not getting a MLB hit until age 27 is just nuts.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Nearly 60 WAR from age 27 onward is an easy HOF for me, can't dock him for not coming over sooner imo. Ichiro is so fun to watch. There's always a large contingent of Japanese fans who buy tickets whenever he's in town and he always puts on batting practice shows, catching fly balls behind his back or something."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Japan season are less games than MLB seasons, too. Wow.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
My projected numbers give 1537 hits (considering a 204 hits/yr x 7 yrs) if he would have started at age 20 and missed about 7 games/yr.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Although that doesn't take into effect that he might struggle early in his career in his early twenties, but he could've been a Mike Trout-like phenom. So you never really know but it's impressive either way.Comment

Absolutely and utterly ridiculous that the World Series is SCHEDULED to end on November 4th...get smart, Manfred, and end this by mid-October at the latest."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment
