Re: MLB Off-Topic
I believe you are correct, even if he did bet on or fix the games you have to realize it was in a completely different era. Players were being paid beans and those fixers/gamblers were offering them more money then they'd ever make in their entire career. It isn't right but in the context of the times a ban that lasts for perpetuity is a little excessive.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Yes, wages and labor conditions were not fair in those times. So what? What about the others players who didn't fix or try to fix the goddamned World Series or, for that matter, any other game?
Seeing people playing fast and loose with this topic is enraging. I don't know if Shoeless Joe bet or fixed games, but if he did, he should not be reinstated. Ever.
And neither should Pete Rose.Last edited by Master Live 013; 08-31-2015, 11:42 PM.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
You got to be kidding me. Do you understand that once the games outcomes are perceived (let alone about reality) to be in question the sport loses its whole credibility? You can't allow the integrity of the game to be compromise in this manner.

If he's ever to be enshrined it would have be another 50-100 years from now IMO.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

When Scully retires, MLB should retire the jersey number correlating to the number of years he worked.
