It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Watching the playoff preview on MLB Network and I found it fascinating that Houston shifted nearly 2,000 times and took away...17 hits? Really? That seems incredible that the total would be that low..."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. Shifts....Maybe they don't always make a difference?
That's pretty interesting though.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Well, that would have to be contrasted with how many hits (and the type) they gave up because of the shift that they wouldn't otherwise? I don't know the number, but lets say it was 5 hits. That would be net plus 12. If it were something like that I would say it was worth it.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Exactly...but with BABIP for LH pull hitters being down and a lot of it due to shifts I expected that number to be higher. They made reference to the fact that it had saved them 1 net hit over the year compared to not shifting...I don't know how they calculated all that, but sure makes it sound like shifts don't make a difference.Well, that would have to be contrasted with how many hits (and the type) they gave up because of the shift that they wouldn't otherwise? Lol @ Ian Desmond saying "I'm extremely proud to have been a Washington National" and then basically 20 seconds of dead air as he struggles to find something else to say, and then completely dodging when asked if he wants to come back.Comment
