Fair enough. My points were kinda separate (AA and Shapiro really wouldn't get along regardless of title from what I've heard, and Anthopoulos set himself up well knowing he wouldn't have to deal with beyond 2015), but I can agree with that.

      About time.
I thought his number was retired already?

Lol that makes literally no sense. Any particular reason for the hold up?

Didn't Boggs choose to wear the Rays cap into the HOF to spite the Red Sox?
I believe he was the reason Cooperstown changed the rule that allowed players to pick which hat they would wear.

I think it was the whole Dave Winfield "all my teams please campaign for what cap I wear" thing that set it in motion.

Sounds like Trevor May to the bullpen. Twins confuse me.

One of the reasons was he didn't retire with the team. Under the old regime there was a set of guidelines in order to get your number retired. Some being in baseball HOF, play for the Sox for 10+ years and retire a Red Sox. And Boggs didn't do that he retired a Devil Rays.

It's actually correct. He picked the (Devil) Rays as the logo he wanted on his cap but the HoF wouldn't allow it. After that they changed the rule so guys couldn't be paid by a club to choose their logo.

After two years, Tom Verducci and Harold Reynolds are out of the Fox broadcast booth, and John Smoltz will be the network’s lead game analyst. Smoltz and play-by-play man Joe Buck will be the…

That means Smoltz and Buck in the World Series booth. I can handle that for sure.

I would've kept Verducci but overall, THANK THE BABY JESUS!!!

The Dodgers to unveil a 10 foot statue of Jackie Robinson in 2016 at an unknown location (at this point) around the stadium. Turns out it will be the 1st of many statues they will be adding around the stadium the next few years.
