It's easy to write this guy off as bitter due to his own mistakes, but I'm not putting it past MLB to have crossed some legal lines either in this guy's case or others in their efforts to wash their own hands of involvement with PED's.
There's been revelations of NFL people doing some shady stuff especially regarding concussions. Steroids are MLB's concussions, so them doing some underhanded stuff to scrub their own hands of PED's wouldn't be the most surprising thing.
Should be fun. Get your popcorn ready.
EDIT: Concussions, not concessions. But yeah, also those! $10 beers?!Last edited by slickdtc; 07-12-2016, 12:19 PM.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Bottom line is he screwed up not once, not twice (I feel like I am at LeBron James' inaugural HEAT event), but three times. The odds of MLB screwing over some middling reliever 3 separate times are really, really far-fetched.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Maybe there is some shady stuff going on. Everything is corrupt somehow these days. Rosenthal did this piece recently about a minor leaguer getting popped multiple times. He independently tested everything he took and can't find where it came from. Maybe Ryan Braun's samples are getting switched with this guy's. Those tainted samples have to go somewhere. :Google:

Or he could be exhibiting symptoms of mental illness, for which people should cut him some slack anyway. The paranoid delusional "out to get me" viewpoint (nobody is really ever out to get you) is a hallmark symptom of bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder, and schizophrenia. Note: I am not a medical doctor nor do I have any inside information.

I see this as another possible Canseco. He called out the PED culture and we all said, shut up roidhead. Now we see that he wasn't that far off the mark, even though we can also still say he's a nut. A broken clock is right twice a day, right?
I think part of his paranoia has to do with the fact, yes, you ARE under a microscope after you fail a test. But that's of his own doing. I'm not excusing that or buying that MLB targeted this nobody reliever specifically, but I can totally see some truth to the things his lawyer said about uncovering some unsavory behavior on behalf of the MLB at large.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Call me cynical, but I have a tough time believing the testimony of someone this biased and with so much to gain/lose.
The thought of some lab dumping Turinabol in his and only his samples is beyond bizarre. If it were a flaw in the procedure, other players would be getting false positives as well and Stanley wouldn't get hit 3 times with the same "testing flaw". Some guys seem to be lying to themselves, honestly. Denial that the career is over. Poof.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

The only possible thing I would consider if these guys are telling the truth is the test isn't perfect and some small portion of the population has particles in their blood that trigger a positive result."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
