It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

No one says you have to watch both games, just catch one of them. It's a special day where endurance factors in heavily to the game. I doubt the majority of fans go to a Wednesday game, then turn around & go right back to the Thursday game as well.
In a 162 game season you don't need pre-scheduled double headers in order to manufacture endurance being a factor.

Your point about a team in Mexico is intriguing and would certainly be a first in US sports with a team in Mexico. One sticking point in my mind though is whether the revenue from ticket sales/concessions that would be in pesos can offset player salaries based which are USD. NHL franchises in Canada are facing difficulties with the declining Canadian dollar so an MLB franchise in Mexico would have to be able to make a sizable profit, in case of a declining market.
As for Tampa, it's been said many times that they've built the ballpark in the wrong place and the horribly out-of-the-way commute keeps fans away. The park itself is also subpar. If they were to build a state-of-the-art retractable roof park in the right part of Tampa (not St. Pete), they'd be doing much better. I remember reading--not sure if this is still true--that the Rays actually do ok on TV viewership unlike the Marlins. They have fans, they're just not drawing them for a variety of reasons including the location.

You bring up a good point about exchange rate. I'm not sure any American ballplayer would want to get a check in pesos, but maybe some revenue-sharing could be worked out to not only smooth out the peso-USD issue but also with the Canadian teams. If MLB wants to be a truly international sport (ok, Toronto doesn't count), these are things they have to put their money where their mouth is. By the way, you currency watchers probably know that it's 18.52 pesos to US$1 right now. Just looked it up. A further issue might be, how would the current Mexican pro teams (like the Sultanes and the Diablos Rojos) react to infringement on their turf? And would the Mexican fans flock to MLB (probably)?

An interesting hypothesis on the HR surge this year:

Maybe it was the 23 first-half homers hit by unknown outfielder Adam Duvall. Maybe it was when Giancarlo Stanton kept making Chris Berman say “back-back-back,” …

Yep, the balls are definitely juiced this year. At least the elite pitchers are still elite (for the most part) so it's not TOO bad.

I counted 24 guys already have 20 or more homeruns. That's insane.

Like dude, you didn't realize the game started at 1? Same as before with possible circumstances though, may have had to put their baby to sleep or something you know? It's just too much for me to get upset without knowing what's happening. Does make you wonder though
It bothers me way more when someone leaves early. There could be reasons for being late that include traffic. In LA that's probably the biggest reason. I once missed like the first couple innings of a Braves game in LA where we put like 10 runs up in the first inning. Pissed me off. But leaving? Unless someone's dying at home or some other serious thing, you're there already and you went through the hassle of getting there so just sit your *** down and watch.

Of course, being in LA, we all know that people here don't really give a **** and that plenty just stroll in and stroll out casually. Whatever, if I've got tickets I'm gonna be there and I'm gonna stay the whole time unless IBS kicks in or something serious happened.

                      Re: MLB Off-Topic

Apparently MLB is looking at possibly limiting number of relievers used in a game. Or limiting number of relievers used in an inning. Part of improving pace of play.

I've said it for awhile now, one of things they should do that'd shorten games by a few minutes is limiting if not eliminating the catcher visits to the mounds or worse, pitching coaches/managers visits to mound. They happen multiple times a game, and each one takes like 20-30 seconds. Game lengths could be shortened by a few minutes by just eliminating that.

Or give teams timeouts. But they count towards any break in play, whether it be a pitcher stepping off the mound, coach/catcher visiting mound, batter stepping out of box. So teams/players can still do it, but not abuse it.

Enough changes. Let's just leave the game as it is.

If they limit the amount of relief pitchers I'll be disgusted.

Exactly, if it's not broke, don't fix it.

I just can't stand the fans calling for shorter this or shorter that to shorten the game by 15 mins.

For what? It's 15 minutes. The second I see someone complain about a 30 second catcher visit I pretty much just dismiss that and anything else that's been said.
