Addison Russell being investigated for domestic violence. Apparently he's been cheating on his wife...mighty explain his poor play so far.

        Who was the other player?

And is infidelity a form of domestic violence, or am I to infer that the cheating led to said domestic violence?

I think it's just being investigated, so we shouldn't assume he's guilty. What happened was his wife posted a picture yesterday afternoon talking of being free, happy, etc, and not subjected to his cheating anymore. One of her friends then commented below that she has been physically abused during this relationship...all of it has since been deleted, but it is being investigated none the less.

Irrespective of whether these guys (Derek Norris and Addison Russell) are actually guilty of anything, this whole "reveal your innermost secrets" on Instagram/Twitter movement is juvenile and terribly unattractive. I wish people would stop it with the "but but but, look at me!" thing they have going on at all times.

I think if they're guilty then it doesn't matter where they were outed. And if the abuse happened, I don't know how saying it happened is a "look at me" moment. I agree with the sentiment in some circumstances, but certainly not irrespective of guilt.

                  1. If the allegations are true than it doesn't really matter where the info was put out though I do agree that putting private matters like that on social media is rather immature but it is what it is. The generation that's grown up with free access to information and media have no shame when it comes to matters of privacy. It's why a LOT of social scientists and the like believe that the notion of privacy that many of us grew up with will be gone within 20-30 years or less.

                  2. If it's true that Russell is cheating on his wife that's bad enough as it is but to have it be one of the causes of him beating up his wife is deplorable. Hopefully this will be investigated thoroughly. He's innocent until proven guilty on the violence part but as a man he fails the test with his infidelity and seemingly no remorse for it.

Publishing private matters on social media is inherently a "look at me and feel my struggle" type of thing. If these women have truly been wronged and have made a life decison to crusade for women's rights using social media as a platform, then that's wonderful and I am all for that. If they just want to post a modeling head shot or a bikini shot of them and shed a few crocodile tears mixed with some emojis, then I don't have any sympathy for that.

Watching that A-Rod cycle made me look at the mid-90s Mariners teams. That 1996 team had incredible years with Griffey, ARod and Edgar having an OPS > 1.00...if only they had some pitching.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I always liked Jay Buhner. If I were to cast the part of an early-to-mid-1990s HR hitter in a movie, I would cast him lol. He just looks like that era.

They had this guy named Randy Johnson who was alright...unfortunately he got hurt that year.

And Jaime Moyer was only in his mid-30s back then. A spring chicken.

Yes. The star player on the opposing team, in a Major League type movie. Probably starring modern day Bradley Cooper. Movie would be horrible.
