The*#Dbacks*make if official: Chip Hale is their 7th manager, receiving two-year contract. Press conference at 2 p.m. in Phoenix.
Nooooooo! And the yanks are looking at Chili Davis too. If the coaching staff is gonna get picked clean it's not going to convince Beane to not blow this team up.

I'm not fully decided yet but I think I would be okay with a complete blowup at this point.

That's pretty much where I'm at too. I'm not sure if I care either way at this point but I do think Beane is gonna blow it up. If he was gonna trade Cespedes this off season like he said, no matter what, that means now others are going instead.

The Neshek comments a few days ago really left a bad taste in my mouth too.

Wow, he's a good guy too.

            What did he say?

It's about the trade and chemistry. And this, , “At the end of the season last year, I was on the plane and they said, ‘We don’t need you for the playoffs, and we don’t need you to stick around, either.’*"

I feel like he wanted to be a lot more negative but still feels he "owes" them for his resurgence.

Really a telling article, such a good guy too. Tough reading that.

                Thanks for sharing Mab.

Man, gotta suck for A's fans. I think that if Beane is going to blow everything up you might as well start from a totally clean slate and throw Beane out too but that might be throwing the bay out with the bath water.

Hopefully next season won't be too bad for you guys.

                    You know Beane's a part-owner of the A's, right?

                        What?

Beane has nothing to do with wanting to restart anything.

Its about the current contracts and roster status of players. We all knew this was an all in year because of what's coming up with expiring contracts.

I've seen both numbers. Maybe his last most recent extension increased to 4%.

Yeah that's true but I mean, Beane's been there for YEARS and if they're going to reboot again might as well try a different approach but knowing that he's a part owner, forget what I said

                                What approach would you suggest?

Most MLB playoff appearances since Beane's 1st season as GM (1998):

                                Yankees (14)
                                Braves (11)
                                Cardinals (10)
                                Red Sox (9)
                                A's (8)

Where the A's postseason teams have ranked in payroll out of 30 teams during the Beane era:

                                25th (2000)
                                29th (2001)
                                28th (2002)
                                23rd (2003)
                                22nd (2006)
                                29th (2012)
                                27th (2013)
                                25th (2014)
