    re: MLB Off-Topic

Literally every single game in the playoffs has gone down to the wire. The one exception is the Orioles' demolition of the Tigers in Game 1…and even that was close for 7.5 innings.

The Angels, Nationals, and Tigers, all thought to be World Series contenders, are staring down the barrel of a sweep/exit from the playoffs. Pretty incredible.

People hate St. Louis so much, you'd think they were Laker fans.

This was a damn good read about Robin Ventura's Grand Slam single in the '99 NLCS.

Rumors are that if the Dodgers fire Ned Colletti they'll make a run at Tampa Bay's GM Andrew Friedman.

                That would be terrifying.

Man....and I bet Dave Martinez would go with him and we'd have Tampa Bay West WITH MONEY.

I would hate to see Friedman leave Tampa.

I hope we can Colletti, I never really was a fan of his. I'd love to have Friedman as the GM and we can pay him more than the Rays obviously, but he seems like a loyal guy and I'd be surprised if he left TB honestly.

They'd probably run him out of town for not spending all the money at his disposal. He'd try to develop the farm and get criticized for it when the team doesn't win more, even if unrelated to their minor league development.

Stick with being a big fish in a small pond, Friedman.

While salaries in the big leagues have skyrocketed over the years, paychecks haven't changed all that much for minor-leaguers since 1975.

                          Interesting read.

Right now I'm not hating the Cards I'm hating Don Mattingly for not pulling Kershaw and costing the Dodgers the series.

One guy played 15 years before handing it up when he was 33 - he had made NO money and was only hirable in baseball.
