I'm not watching much of either.

I can see by the clips the pure enthusiasm of the LLWS seems higher, Well it's like the playoffs for them and of course the stands are full of parents and families so they're going to be way more into it than fans at some regular season MLB game.

But if I did watch more of it, I would expect more ugly sports parents behavior to become apparent.

Yeah I watch enough bad baseball coaching at the high school level. If I'm watching for enjoyment, I'm watching the best.

I'd probably watch little league if the pros weren't on at the same time.

            Re: MLB Off-Topic

I was listening to an interview with Maury Brown of Forbes about the Marlins ownership change and there are a couple things that doesn't sound so great already. Apparently Jeter and Co. are keeping on David Samson who is Loria's son-in-law and who has treated season ticket holders and potential fanbase like CRAP over the years. It's not known whether this is temporary or not but it seems rather foolish to me to keep any vestiges of the Loria regime from the ownership side involved in the "new era".

Another bad omen is that the Jeter group has given a 40% ownership stake in the team to Jorge Mas, a guy who was one of the bidders for the team during the sale process. This seems to indicate that the Jeter group may not exactly have the equity on their own to run the Marlins. Arrangements like this often leads to chaos. This is actually pretty unique. The only situation that comes close to my knowledge was the situation with the Raptors initial ownership with Allan Slaight and John Bitove. A situation that led to Bitove enacting a shotgun provision where either side had to put up a certain amount of money to outright buy the club from each other. I doubt there's any kind of provision with Mas having a stake with the Marlins but this doesn't seem to be the most natural of business arrangements either.

Jeter never had the money. It was always political to have him at the forefront.

The new ownership is hoping casual fan won't notice. All that they care about is a 5 time champion bringing his brand to the club.

              Jeter has no real power.

Except according to the interview Jeter wants to have as much baseball personnel control as possible. Here's hoping everything works out.

Yeah of course he does. And he can be put in that position. He's going to be CEO. But he can also be removed whenever the majority prefers.

How much power does Magic have over the Dodgers?

The best decisions they made were to hire the front office people and write blank checks.

Andrew Friedman makes all the final roster decisions. Magic is part owner, but he's more there for show than anything.

I wouldn't read too much into the Jorge Mas thing because 1. Thats not official and 2. Thats a great thing if ended up being the control person. A local Cuban American with $$

Regardless of who owns the Marlins, they can't trade Stanton. You build around that guy...the Marlins are close to being a legit contender, IMO.

Turns out Anthony Rendon was going to change his number to 24 this year, but MLB makes you buy back all the uniforms they make of you. Would have been $40 grand for Rendon to buy all his #6 uniforms back just to switch to #24.

Here's a couple of articles regarding jersey numbers and and the best player at each height.
