    Re: MLB Off-Topic

I get why they're doing it, but sucks to see that gone. It was one of the first baseball logos I ever knew. First baseball video game I ever played(it was a demo) had the Indians as one of teams you could select, so that logo has some nostalgia for me even though I was never really a Cleveland Indians fan(though I did end up buying their hat with that logo on it).

I hope they get a new logo instead of using that generic block C as their logo. Of all the concepts out there, I've always liked this one:

My gosh. I hope they edit the movie "Major League" now. And replace those logos with something much more appropriate. Because it offends me to the core.

Doubtful. Apparently the Seminole tribe is cool with their role in sports.

They are fine with Florida States mascot. And the imagery. The chop I'm pretty sure originated at FSU. And Atlanta just adopted it.

Although somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, the Braves started the chop in 1991 (their worst to first year) in response to Deion Sanders becoming a Brave. It was a fun year...

              Well this isn't good.....

Los Angeles Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen pulled no punches when it came to the slow free-agent market this offseason and teams' apparent reluctance to compete this season.

"Maybe we have to go on strike, to be honest with you," Jansen told Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times this weekend.

Spring training is fast approaching with All-Star talent like Yu Darvish, Jake Arrieta and Eric Hosmer
still unsigned, while the Miami Marlins have divested themselves of stars Giancarlo Stanton, Dee Gordon, Christian Yelich and Marcell Ozuna with seemingly modest returns.

"That is something we might have to address, so you don't have a lot of Miami Marlins doing this," Jansen said. "Maybe it's an adjustment for us, as the players' union. Maybe we have to go on strike, to be honest with you. That's how I feel about it."

The Miami Herald reported on Friday that the MLBPA had filed a grievance over whether or not the Marlins have invested their revenue-sharing income back into the club as is mandated.

The current collective bargaining agreement between the league and its players expires after the 2021 season. Major League Baseball has enjoyed labour peace since a players' strike over a proposed salary cap in 1994 wiped out the World Series.

"Maybe I could say that, for me, maybe we should go on strike and fix that," Jansen said of players not getting their perceived fair share of increased revenue. "Maybe not. I think it's a thing we maybe address that to the union. I'm not going to say that to you guys. I'm going to have that talk to the union, and we'll see how it goes from there."

First the new mascot and now that travesty? That abomination? That thing is so incredibly ugly.

                  Good grief.

At least we solved the world crisis baseball logo situation today.

                    GOOD GRIEF!

Just use the old uniform without the huge honkin' "Los Bravos" wordmark. Hell, I have a t-shirt version of that uniform and it looks nice compared to this ****.

The NBA has some really nice looking Latino themed uniforms. Take a hint MLB.

You were right Matrix Manfred is a piece of ****. I'm disturbed about him being the commissioner going forward. He's a clueless hack and an embarrassment.

It looks like a maternity shirt and doctor scrubs got together and had a baby. It's terrible.

                        And yeah....yeah he is.

No one needs "latino themed" unis...

                            it's....pandering, at best...and always looks/sounds silly.

A better idea would be to get some Mexican pro teams in town for Spring Training
                            Australian Rules Football...just sayin'

Was the name the issue with the team or the actual logo? I don't really see an issue with the name Indians for their team, I mean if you get rid of that, then you're basically opening the door for things like that to happen to any native name.

That logo I like because it still represents their name (the C shaped in a way where it has an I in it, and has the feather on it too). Just looks like a simple yet creative logo.
