Whoa, let's at least be a bit more clear about what they are "announcing."

They are simply announcing it as their preferred site to move to. It is nothing official or final.

We've seen same exact thing go wrong badly very recently with the A's.

You were right, they are trying to relocate from St Pete to Ybor City. Nothing you said was wrong.

7th ave in Ybor City is where I spent a lot of weekend nights during my late teens, early twenties. If you are looking to spend a night out in Tampa, Ybor City or Channelside where the Lightning play are the places to go.

                Re: MLB Off-Topic

Verducci has a pretty lengthy feature on Jeter and the Marlins.

Derek Jeter is the product of a baseball culture where success, support and profitability were facts of life. Now he runs the Marlins.

Most of it is standard, just saying the media has been dramatizing things and fans are running with it. Jeter being a robot makes it kinda funny:

On if signing Jake Arrieta and Yu Darvish before the trades made them a contender: "No. They still wouldn't have won. So you just dig a bigger hole, and eventually you have to get out of it. That's a lot of work."

On not going to the Winter Meetings: he's the CEO and doesn't work trades himself, the president of baseball operations and his team were there.

On firing the scout with cancer: Most contracts run out at the end of October, most renewals are sent at the end of September. They didn't get control of the team until early October, and then they were going to let him heal before they let him know but he kept calling worried that he wouldn't be renewed so that's how he found out.

On why he fired the special assistants to David Samson (long time employees people were upset at them getting rid of): David Samson isn't even there anymore.

Barry Jackson (Miami reporter) tweeted that Jeter is lying about stuff like not wanting to trade Stanton and not getting a profitability bonus. I don't know about the bonus, but Jeter doesn't really say in the article that he doesn't want to trade him, he says the plan was that he's on the team. The Knicks had the same plan for Melo and traded him a day later. That's just sports. I dunno. Interesting to see for sure.

                  Re: MLB Off-Topic

The fact Jeter has been blamed for everything is evidence enough that the media has overblown the Marlins situation.

                  But good piece.

I didn't realize how much people hated the Yankees until Jeter got involved with the Marlins. Like I knew we were hated, but when a dude who played for the team and was widely respected throughout the league gets all this as a 4% owner, I'm just like wow. It'd be like Nets fans throwing copies of the Blueprint on the floor at the Barclays Center to get at Jay-Z when he owned like 2% of the team lol. It'll be fun to watch develop.

He was doing an interview on Kay's show, he's still a boring interview. He says he won't be at the game when the Marlins visit Yankee Stadium.

You know baseball is close when you google your favorite team and the first thing that pops up now is the spring training game schedule. Oh yeah!

That's why you hand over a gun this way:

                            R.I.P. Cesar Quintero.

EDIT: ubernoob is right, actually... I thought this was the primary way, second way being barrel face-down with handle in direction of recipient. Apparently that may be the primary way (of course, having unloaded the weapon as well). Still, however it happened in the exchange that ended up killing somebody, I doubt any of these measures were taken.

For Perez's sake, let's hope this was only an accident.

Nope, that's not how you hand someone a gun.

                              That's off topic though.
