Re: MLB Off-Topic
Angels close to a deal to make Joe Maddon their next manager. That was a given.

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Even though I obviously think Joe had run his course in Chicago, he's going to have some great stories to tell. Being on staff when the Angels won it all, bringing the Rays to the brink, winning a title with the Cubs, and now managing Mike Trout. Kind of a charmed existence that he's had, which he deserves because he's a nice guy.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Not sure how much teams do it, but something I saw on AEW on TNT, they had split screen commercial breaks. In big window is the commercial with audio for it. In the small window, they were still showing the program itself.
During NBA,NFL and NHL commercial breaks, not much really goes on in(outside of coach/players talking). In baseball, we have teams warming up on D and pitcher throwing warmup pitches.
Would this sort of split screen work in MLB? Still get the commercial breaks in, but small window showing feeds on defense of whatever team the broadcast is for.Comment

With the Nationals making it to the World Series, the Seattle Mariners are the only team that has never been to the World Series. 29 of the 30 teams have made it at least 1 time.Comment

Adding on to that, Mariners have never even been 1 win away from the WS either.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Phillies next manager will be one of Buck Showalter, Joe Girardi, or Dusty Baker. Phillies having follow-up interviews with each of them again this week.
Really want Girardi but would be fine with Showalter. I don't want Baker.

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Last time a Washington team was in the WS, prohibition was in effect.
Last time Washington won the WS was 1924.
What a way we could end the decade in sports. Hockey and basketball had some of their crazy droughts ended/some franchises first.
From baseball side alone, Giants started decade ending their 55 year drought, Astros won their first ever title, Royals by comparison ending a 30 year drought seemed small lol, Cubs ended their drought, and now we could see Washington get their first title in 95 years.
Who wants to place bets on droughts ended in the 20s? Rangers? Mariners? Brewers? Padres?Last edited by Majingir; 10-17-2019, 03:41 PM.Comment

The Brewers may be "built for now," but I don't think they'll get over the hump of the other teams also contending around them.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Crazy to think that the Braves are the NL East team that has the longest World Series appearance drought.Comment
