The way I suggested, sure it's only 2 games cut off, but it still makes schedules more balanced within divisions. If you start season within first 2-3 days of April, the WS will be ending in October for sure.

Monday,Tuesday,Thursday,Friday are the days season could start on. If it's Monday or Thursday, first series is 4 game series. If it's Tuesday or Friday, first series of season is 3 game. April 1 2015 was a Wednesday, meaning season could've started April 2nd(Thursday) with a 4 game series. Not April 6th like it was for most teams. 4 days earlier would have WS GM7 October 31st. 2 less games with earlier start date, and teams might even get 1 extra offday. April 3rd would be latest possible start date under this scenario(regardless of 160 or 162 game schedule)

From what I've read, the 154 game idea isn't to shorten the length of the season, but to provide more off-days. So the season would start and end on the same days on the calendar, but teams would have more frequent off days during the season

I had a feeling if Boston wanted him badly enough they'd bring in Dombrowski. He has prior history with John Henry back in Florida.

Just the Dembrowski news...love it. Fine with keeping Ben in a smaller role. Just really hoping Henry and Werner give full reins to Dembrowski. I think they will. Now this does this affect Ferrell is he gone no matter what now or is it still his decision? I would have to think it's the second basing it off of the situation.

I'm not the biggest follower of other teams' farm systems but if I'm not mistaken Boston is pretty stacked right? If so, DD must be licking his chops at who he can trade to the Marlins for Stanton and/or Fernandez.

The funny thing about this is it took me a minute to figure out the joke.

Sounds like Dombrowski will hire a GM to work under him... Frank Wren is a possibility.

Yep... Wren is the frontrunner right now. Also don't be surprised to see Dipoto's name thrown around with the job. Seeing as he was hired to help with the offseason.

I don't think he wanted to be the GM anymore. I might watch his press conference later today. And will see if they ask about why he chose to only take the President's job and not the GM as well. And will post his response here.
