I thought this article was a phenomenal read. Especially if you have any interest in Harry Caray, broadcasting, or the St. Louis Cardinals. Holy Cow!

I love when ESPN has their announcers broadcast from the stands like they did yesterday. I really think that adds a different element to how they call the game sometimes.

Furthermore, I have not been turned off by Jessica Mendoza at all. She's no worse than Aaron Boone (or Steve Phillips, John Kruk, or Joe Morgan of old).

She really seems like she does her homework but is not just simply stating the obvious or sounding like she's spouting memorized items. I know some people have called her hiring tokenism but she's a far sight better than some of the female in-booth hires in ESPN's history. (Pam Ward i'm looking at you)

I cannot stand Pam Ward; Doris Burke on the other hand is exceptional.

As far as Mendoza...I'm not enamored. I feel like maybe if it was a better guy than Dan Shulman doing the play-by-play she could be enhanced further.

They finished the radio broadcaster rankings in FanGraphs. Link.

Nice to see Pat Hughes get his due even if his color man is weighing the unit down a bit. I don't really mind Ron Coomer. He fits the likable, former player, part doofus role that Santo played for so long to a T.

Can't see how Giants aren't easily #1 on radio. They have ridiculous depth and talent at play-by-play and color that rotates from TV to radio, and it's pretty much the only radio broadcast (next to Vin in his prime) that even a non-baseball fan should find entertaining and engrossing.

A's radio is damn good when it's Korach and Fosse.

While the Blue Jays dropped to 13th (mainly on the basis of Ashby no longer being there) it does seem that Jerry Howarth's partner Joe Siddall is at least generally well thought of. I'm a little surprised they didn't take into consideration Mike Wilner (who does the middle innings during home games) who definitely skews younger in his style but retains some of the style of Howarth and the late great Tom Cheek.

Mike Wilner has to be one of the worst broadcasters in sports lol.

I think he's too contentious on the postgame show but as far as in-game work he isn't bad. At least he brings ridiculous energy to his call of big moments.

Would anybody else be on board with a skills competition at the ASG?

                            Best OF arm
                            Best DP combo
                            Best 1B to 3B
                            Best IF arm
                            Best catcher arm
Best glove (IF thrown a ton of grounders)
Best OF jump (see how many balls an OF can catch in a given time)

...these are some of my thoughts.

OMG yes, especially with those moving targets. I was pretty hyped up just watching that 1 minute video.

As for possible injury, these idiots get injured sneezing. What's another few throws?

Wow, just looked up who exactly it was that got hurt sneezing last season. None other then the guy featured in that video, Kevin Pillar.

If he's not scared, you shouldn't be either!
