Supposedly after the crash the thief/thieves took his Royals WS ring (not that it matters now).

Um, I think his family would appreciate having it.

Not shocked, Dominican Republic is a ****ty place. There is a reason why Dominican baseball players bring their family to the US when they make it to the majors.

Third world country or not, that's one of the most dishonorable things you can imagine doing. Murder, rape, running for office, and genocide excluded of course.

Saw that as well. Hopefully it's not true. If it is it just goes to show how cruel people can be. Sad to think that if the people or person who found him weren't criminals that he may have lived and still been alive today.

That's a rather nihilistic perspective to take. I probably wouldn't be so dismissive of his family's part in this.

Taveras, Fernandez, and now Yordano. This kind of stuff isn't supposed to happen.

Sports is where I go, to escape all the bull**** in this world. I think that's one of the reasons I love them so much.

And then this all happens, in a relatively short span. It's unfathomable.

Looking through last year's baseball preview magazine and realizing that I will never see Fernandez or Ventura on the mound again in this life, is really, really depressing.

You obviously never want to hear anybody pass away, but two immensely talented pitchers, just wiped out, no warning, just like that? I know life isn't fair, but C'mon man.

Indeed there is some nihilism in me yet this isn't an instance. More like: "in their grief, Yordano's family isn't sweating the stolen ring" kind of thought.

I've never heard or seen this word in my life until today.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I mean I can't say I have used it very much in the past year, but I wouldn't consider the word that uncommon haha.
