You forgot about the Boss and Winfield? You don't think he would've just spiked a supplement and saved himself the trouble if he could?

Owners could always try and work a clause into contracts. Say if you piss hot then your contact reverts to league minimum.

Imo bans won't help, you want to end this they need to hit em hard where it counts, the wallet. Piss hot and make league minimum for x years of clean play.

Well these 80 game bans won't help I should say. Can still come back and someone will sign them to a huge deal.

Wasn't it the Rangers that scored 30 in Baltimore, too? Sometime in the early 2010s I think.

            Yep, in 2007. 30-3.
            5 in the 4th, 9 in the 6th, 10 in the 8th, and 6 in the 9th.

And Josh Hamilton's 4-HR game was at Camden Yards (2 of those coming off a young man named Jake Arrieta).

What is with the crowd howling at baseball games? Not sure if every stadium is doing it but hearing it more and more.

              I'm reminded of vuvuzelas.

              Cut the **** everyone.

No I don't. I don't think he would sabotage his players and coaches, or he would have framed Billy Martin for something.

Turns out Marte's failed test came during the WBC.

What does that change/how does it change things?

                      I legitimately don't know.

Shouldn't change anything. Failed test is a failed test no matter when it's taken.

I swear it was around that time the Cubs scored 20 in a game and lost by 10 runs, or maybe it was the Cubs that won... my memory sucks

He never had a reason to frame Billy Martin. He could just fire him, he was never being paid so highly that his salary was an impediment.

As far as Winfield, I'd guess that would depend on your definition of sabotage.

Maybe Steinbrenner could have figured out a way to get rid of Ellsbury, something tells me he could have.

In all seriousness, Steinbrenner did alot of good for the organization, and alot of bad. The Winfield saga was really, really bad.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong. I love The Boss. He got us the chips. But he was far from a guy who was unwilling to throw dirt on his players. There's very little that could happen in the course of someone trying to save millions of dollars that I would deny as a possibility. I wouldn't put much out of the reach of these owners.
